Cherries, Bradfords, Redbuds, Camelias and Rose of Sharon are all cranking up here. A LOT of buds popped last night. The difference in street trees from yesterday to today is dramatic.

I just noticed yesterday that the silver and red maple are pushing leaf buds .

The male robins arrived about a week ago .The females should here in a week or two . These birds are a better predictor of spring time than the weather man .

Walnut catkins are coming out on the earlier varieties and the bees were really buzzing in the red bud this morning.

Some buck eye leafing, Flowers on manzanita (the bees are really busy on the manzanita when warm :) ), and some bay laurel blooming today. Red bud is blooming, but I did not get a chance to stop and photo it. Somebody already did anyway. Some new leaves on the white and blue oaks are budding pending on altitude. I will get some daffodil pics tomorrow if the snow holds off.

Here is an old Buck Eye on the property we took the small oak down on today. It's about 18"dbh and has a lot of character and shape. Been 3 years since dead wooded also. She will probably have me do it in the future.

Katy took the boys with Aunt Sheila on a little wild flower drive this last week. Most of these pics are in the Telegraph Fire zone. The poppys are doing amazing! Almost looks surreal and reminds us that fire is necessary in the cycle of life.

The Merced River Canyon was quite spectacular even though it was also fire scoured.... And no, the second pic was without a filter of any kind ! This is how it actually looks! Stands out more because of the burned trees I am thinking.

Awesome pictures. Nothing like a little fire to help fertilize the wild flowers.

And finally .... Three little wild flowers of a special variety :D ;)

Sweet. I took a few more from my yard. The first, John reminded me is a shaving brush.

hmmm, forsythia, not yet, daffodils, barely. looks like we are a couple weeks behind SOTC, a few months behind Cursed and his california poppy. too far north (except for summertime) for Vharrison's bouganvillea and other fanciful blooms. :) but we get to make snowmen and see icicles during 'winter' ( a term she might not be familiar with) . :P
