I will always enjoy a good cut of steak or a lobster tail or something special. Otherwise eating IS a chore.
Body fat just floats away if I water fast for a couple days.
 
Haven't had any refined starches like breadstuffs or sugared crap for years. The smartest change I ever made. There is a whole world of delicious food without that stuff and I look forward to every meal. We eat a lot of meat and eggs but by far the bulk of our meals are vegetables and that is where much of the flavor comes from.
 
I wish it was my beef.

We did not know that brisket was a thing until quite recently.

Right now we have a couple beeves in the fat pen on full feed. Going to save the briskets out of them.

I guess they would have been ground with the trim on past fat beef.

Dont know what real good barbeque Texas brisket tastes like. I have smoked a couple but I dont think they turned out very good.

I like brisket corned like we had tonight. A Meathead Goldwyn recipe.
 
How would a person get the red out Butch?

It was fully cooked. Like to a 200 degree internal temp.

Supposedly the color is from the Prague no.1 Curing powder. Sodium nitrite or nitrate....cant remember which.


Edit.....it was boiled for hours Butch and cured too...not smoked like normal brisket.

Like the St Paddy's day stuff.
 
We had some of them too. Macaroni salad, chips and salsa. But you are right, i need to improve my diet a bit.
