Seriously, I'm proud of our collection of original paintings and etchings. Only a couple from artists with world-wide reputations, but a lot of stuff that speaks to us on very personal levels.

Having lived a big part of my life out of a backpack, I'm not much into owning things. ( Unless they are tools of course!)

But the plates, bowls, and platters.............whatever, that we use every day has a big place in my heart.

In the late 1980es we were living in the same village as a couple of the best potters, Hans and Birgitte Børjesson ( ceramic makers, what do you call them?) in Denmark. We got to be quite friendly, but after my wife and me moved to the States, we lost contact.

20 years later we decided to visit them and spend some of our savings on some soup bowls ( their stuff is NOT cheap!).
When we got there, Hans was bitching about a guy who had promised to fall some dying elms at their place, but haven't shown up.

To make a long story short, I did a LOT of treework for them and they designed and made a set of plates etc for us .

They have refused to duplicate it for anyone else, but the swedish industrial museum( that title just doesn't translate well, sorry) has a set on display ( Hans is Swedish).

Using that set daily gives me the same little jolt of pleasure as lacing up my custom Wesco boots does:)

Hans called me 2 weeks ago, their ash trees are dying, could I please find time to fell them sometime during the summer:)

I figured it out, I (we) have incandescent lightbulbs! They are rapidly being phased out of availability here and although most of our lights are CFL's already, we have the kitchen light/fan that takes 3 bulbs and is on a dimmer so we cant use CFL's. I (the wife) stocked up on 60W bulbs today when she saw some in a drug store, a dozen should keep us in business for a couple years.

I have dimmable CFLs. Now. I had that same problem until I found them at the local hardware store. Problem is they only dimm for the brighter half, before that they just flicker.

Feel lucky to own a Norton commando 850 and a 73 yamaha rd350.
Also find I love being behind the controls of my Drott yumbo excavator

A Norton 850 commando would make me feel lucky, too.

Great bike!

Got one of these
