Whats that have to do with anything? I flew the caddies for near 10 years. And the switch to the Gecks was a HUGE leap forward.

Its kinda like whay fix somthing that not broken.
Gecks as a climbing spike , are to rockclimbers what Eb's are to Anasazi's.
You can still climb way way hard in each.
Im actually suprised i dont hear more about foot , or boot platforms, especially when chunking and blocking.
Shoot they used to use slabs to stand on for that stuff, aha:D

I think they mean these. You can add them to any brand except the Bashlin aluminums

Yeah, they add about 1 lb to each foot. IMO, a pair of lineman's boots with the steel shank in the footbed is a much better solution.

my feet never hurt from standing in hooks, my knees do though. specially chunking big wood where you keep your flipline lower than other times

No, it's the other foot, or calf - to be exact. Besides that, my smushed foot ain't "weak."

To bad there aren't more local Tree climbing gear stores around so you could go check things out before buying. There is a Veermer in Baton Rouge that's a Sherill dealer, to far for you to go. One Tree co. here opened a gear store but it didn't last because the other company's didn't want to give the "enemy" any money.

I mailed them off to Willie yesterday. I can't believe Ekkka and I were the only ones who didn't like them. We must be mates!

One of these days I'll get to try caddies. At this point the steel shin insert pads seem pretty comfy to me....what sucks is that none of the better pads are considered compatible with Brooks......which have the most bestedest gaffs of all IMO.
