Unhappy With The CF Geckos

I think it's because the pads are sort of contoured to the side of your leg a little more.

And I do believe therein lies the flaw. I think all that should be shifted to the front, like caddies. I don't want the weight to be on the inside of my calf - I want it to be distributed more across my shin.

Yeah, and because the pads are tilted so much on geckos, having them too high puts more of the pressure on the back of the pads against your calf. When you move them lower the pressure will even out, and you'll swear you forgot to put them on.

If that's true, then it's pretty ironic. I shipped the first ones back because they seemed too short, but I hadn't used them at all - I just compared them to my caddies.

ok-

long or short?

Do I look like a lineman? :what:

Only linesman use short gaffs?

I have the short gaffs and they are plenty long for any tree around here. Ive been up monster Cottonwoods and not had any troubles with the shorter gaffs. The long ones are too long. And I believe the shorter ones are less fatiguing as your feet are closer to the tree and your not always pivoting around on the gaff themselves.

I've never seen transmission poles with thick bark. ;)

And I believe that your feet have no idea how long your spurs are because you're actually standing on the lower part of the shank, NOT the gaff.

Crikey , throw them in with the rest of your tools and use umm here and there, But deffinatly go back to your Caddies.
Youll proably like the gekos better but it might take years:D:D:D

You missed the point as usual, but nonetheless, you are right.

:P:evil:;)
I think im the moron who likely needs more oxy.:?

Nothing wrong with a bit more oxy

Sorry to hear that MB. Damm I hate to make a purchase and not have it work out.
I guess I was luck in that I got to use both styles and settled on the one which worked best for me.
Just goes to show that each of us is different.
No one 'best saddle' and no piece of gear which is the 'best'.

I am sure you will be able to sell them

Looks like he did already, but didn't notice :D.

Cool.

Too bad they aren't your cup of tea, Butch. Now I'm wondering about them being right for myself, as well...

No, my bad for misleading there...I don't have them yet and am now wondering if it's worth it to try to acquire them.

Well, considering how only Ekkka and I were the only ones who disliked them, you've probably got a good chance of liking them.

I still havent decided completely. They only hurt my right leg, not the left. Perhaps something odd was up that I wasn't aware of.

Now, are you gonna buy the shorter ones??
