I went ahead and ordered me one of these. I was able to get the smaller model, cool.

I dunno, it's just that the training monitors that I'm familiar with, used to require a sensor worn over your heart. I guess that it has advanced.

Yeah a few years HR monitors needed a chest strap and were expensive. Now they are obviously cheap. Jay for cycling they tend to use power meters now rather than HRM as your HR is actually lagging behind the effort so by the time it starts to increase you have allready surpased your target zone. Its all a little too technical for my liking, just get out and ride IMO...

Ha, cycling has gotten pretty everything has to be all new fangled and lighter than last week's model, even for people who get on a bike maybe only a couple times a year. The enjoyment from amateur riding, as opposed to sponsored racers, has got little to do with that.

I just can't get excited about flashlights. We have so many because of hurricanes, seems like they are a dime a dozen.

Are they special, high output LEDs, like these? These ain't no normal flashlights, sistah. They be BRIGHT!!! One's going in my glove box.

hahahaha, I just can't get excited about flashlights. We do have a cool one though, it is flexible so you can wrap it around your neck and be hands free.

Anyone got a spare one to part with and want to sale (Serengeti led tactical flashlight)? I dont need a 2 pak just one for a emergency back up for work. My little 2 AA Maglite does the chore right now.
It has old school little bulb and isnt the brightest in the world, but works for job at hand.
PM if so.

If you can't find one, and don't mind spending a bit more, Kevin. I can offer many alternatives for a decent price and a little better quality. It seems I've become addicted to flashlights
You can start with this "drop-in" http://www.lighthound.com/Solar-Forc...ge_p_3507.html
Then add this "host" http://www.lighthound.com/Solar-Forc...es_p_3474.html
This is a "poor mans" Surefire that runs on AA batteries and gives you the option to upgrade easily and cheaply in the future. Trust me, they seem to come out with a new P-60 drop-in every month right now! This is also a three mode module! Just make sure if you get one for this host it's rated at .8v and up, not any higher or the AA's wont power it!

Brendon, I also used to love and Swear buy Surfire, I have a couple still, an E2W and a 9P, nice high quality lights. My problem with them, they are slow to make improvements, as in years behind the latest LED's (because they want to make sure they are working properly) and every year, or every other year at least, they up the prices of their light's 30%. Think I'm joking? Price some out now, then price them out next month after the price increase kicks in! The E2-AA is going to be $189 next month! Two mode, less output and run time than the setup I just showed to Kevin with two modes, and $189? AND it's not upgradeable without MAJOR work!
They've kinda lost their luster with me, I like the HDS lights and the Fenix lights, then the Solarforce hosts are C and P Surefire compatible, meaning the tailcap head, and bulb drop right in screw right on them. I just can't say they are worth what they are asking for them anymore!

Andy, last week you posted a link to a flashlight you just bought. Can you post it again?

Andy, I want to put a light on my shorty homedefence shotgun. With such a narrow/focused beam I wouldnt even need a laser sight, right? Just shoot where the beam is. What thinks you????

I think with a shotgun, in home defense, I'd want a floody beam with a hot spot. The flood shows his buddies, the spot shows the center of where the blast will hit him!

Thanks for the info guys. I dont need far away, just something to light up a dark room instantly. I found something I'm going to try to carry as a light weight back up (240Lum CREE Q5-P4).

Not a flashlight guy so totally clueless. I just want the sucker to come on and light up when needed.

Thanks,
