The Official Work Pictures Thread

I was curious if his gaffs met inside the stem. What kind of tree is growing through the fence? Reminded me of our Manitoba Maple and Google tells me it could very well be a Box Elder. Structure is more uniform than ours locally but the shoots, bark and weeping sure look like something I'd find down the street.
This is Ácer negúndo. We call it the ash-leaved maple.

Great pics for sure, thx for posting.

Your trucks are obviously awesome but I personally would get stressed keeping them that clean in that environment. FL, maybe, but not MT

Went and did a side job after work and it was quite interesting.

All climb by myself. Tree was supported by two other trees. I bounced between climbing those two and walking up the dead spar to drop everything. As I released each resting point the supporting trees stood up more. The cut before the last one made the dead tree root to shift up 6-8in. That’s when I realized the tree was falling with the last cut. I was tied in to other trees the entire time. I cut down both ends of the supporting fork then I notched and spun the spar on the root ball verrrrrry slowly

Cripple/winch would have been a great idea but I don’t have a winch. Probably would have made it a little bit easier lol

A Maasdam Continuous Rope-puller capstan is cheap, portable/small/ light, dependable and versatile.

I've pulled so many trees with it, my truck, my mini, small stumps, drug logs...

Yes, definitively worth having. It isn't costly, even amazingly cheap for its usefulness. It was a revelation when I dicovered it here in the House.

The Maasdam is rated for a max pull of 1500. Is that accurate? Never used one but doesn’t seem like enough pull to drag a 5000lb tree
