With the patch AND the gum, nothing to it.

I tried the little nicoret disc things for awhile, But I found myself with 3 of those in one cheek, and a dip in the other, Thats the truth, no joke. So I tried chantix, and that worked great, and I had quit for about 4 weeks when we went on vacation. About 4 hours into the drive the one yr old at the time decided to start screaming and there was no place to safely stop for about another 45 min. When we did stop I pulled into the first gas station I found, and bought a can. Been a can a day since. I have got to stop though, Its killing my mouth. and if I dont get it I walk around looking for a boot to chew on and drool a lot.

It's gotta be the gum AND the patch for it to work for real addicts. I dipped Copenhagen AND smoked Marlboro reds.

But, if deep down inside you don't really want to quit, then you'll never quit. I knew it was time for me to quit when I'd be smoking and was still craving a cigarette.

Chantix had zero affect on me.

I was reading over at a cancer forum where so many people regret not having gotten off of tobacco earlier, and with some types of disease, the shadow can follow you around forever, quitting may or may not help. A good lesson to be learned there, people missing body parts, etc., or a spouse telling of someone gone in their entirety. A number of people mention having had success breaking the habit with e-cigarettes. I guess they can be an alternative or a way to quit completely.

There is no way quitting doesn't help in some way, if only by saving you money.

I got off the patch after about two months, then the gum about a month later.

Its never too late to quit, unless of course it actually too late. Science has proven many times over that with enough time, the body does major repairs and threats are lessened.

I may die of cancer someday, but at least I can say that I tried. Any step in the right direction has to be better then no taking one at all. I am ready to give this crap up for sure , I think I better go camping by myself for a few days though cause I become a grumpy son of a gun when I dont have my cope.

Don't be afraid to try, starting back is EASY. Most people need to make several attempts before they're finally successful.

Go for it!

Bet they wish they had that tree taken out at first, instead of just having it "Pruned".

Couldn't you just have flopped it in the river and floated it into the Pacific:lol:

Seriously, heck of a big tree in an awkward spot.

Nice job as usual.

Some heavy wood too I am betting.

An oak we did yesterday....
We had the larger leader threatening the house and the propane tank guyed of prior to our stormy weather. several of the guys trees, live oaks and grey pines, further away from the house were pretty much decimated during the storms this year. One right behind this one after we had guyed it.......

HO helped Rob with rope and brush, he will handle the final clean up. His little girl lost her swing limb though :( Better safe than sorry though. Bad attachments at the root crown showing failing and included bark, fruiting bodies....

It was a pretty awkward spot. I'd have loved to sent it out in the river but would have wanted to pull it and that would take alot of line! We did blow the top, Cole dumped it from his location in the second pic, to tall and far for the crane.

What did this pick weigh Willie?
attachment.php

Willie, I can't recall seeing a boom so drilled out to lighten it, must be some new metallurgical thing going on there.

Cool thrills, Stephen.

4-5k Stephen, biggest pick was the butt log at 11k.

Quite common around here Jay. Thats a 60T

Interesting, Willie, I hear crane operators fairly regular expressing concern about tweaking their booms, and they aren't drilled out. You would think that with all that metal removed it would make for easier damage, but I guess not. A good topic for discussion at lunch tomorrow! See a lot of cranes here, but being drilled out I can't recall.
