I was wondering and looked it up.

In professional matches they have up to 4 minutes to do it. It creates suspense and you try and out psyche the opponent and disrupt their rhythm. The scattering of salt is a good luck thing.

Like all traditional martial arts they are deep rooted with tradition.

Geez I was thinking it was chalk for grip. Good info, Rich

Hella fight here. @biggun, do these animals have short careers? Sheesh.

They get paid well. Liam Harrison, British guy who fought in ONE Championship said that he didn’t think it was a young man’s fight as they can reduce the lifespan of their careers. But if they are gonna do it at least pay them well.

Liam Harrison was involved in one of ONE’s bangers. Bear in mind that 3 knockdowns in a round is usually a TKO.

Liam Harrison fought a very decorated Thai fighter about 4 years ago. Didn’t make it out of the 1st round 😜

Crazy round. Lotta lefts doing damage!

Rico is a legend. Might only have been his second pro boxing fight and his first was 15 years ago or something.

As I said he is a legend. One of the greatest Heavyweight kick-boxers to ever live. He is no mug and an absolute monster.

Peter Fury trained him for 6 months to get him on the front foot and being more of a boxer. I watched the post fight interview with Peter Fury and he said the only thing Rico did wrong was not clinch and hold on in those final seconds to wind down the clock. That was due to his ring experience.

That being said, the bell had rang to end the round before the ref called a halt so they have grounds for a rematch IMO but they will have lost the element of surprise.

I think Rico did really well and have seen him come back in Kickboxing fights after being laid out from a shin to the temple. He is a tough bugger. He may have been knocked out in the 12 round but he was definitely winning up to that point. He should have at least had a chance.

I know if it had been the other way around they wouldn’t have stopped it. They would have given Usyk the benefit of the doubt and let him go into the final round.

Regarding the talks of conspiracy and boxing corruption, not sure about that. The ref is human and probably didn’t hear the bell go but the fact a kick-boxer was beating one of the best boxers out there certainly makes it look very suspicious.

Thanks, he did well as did the others from the club.

Lots of medals and lots of great fights.

One of my favourites fights was a Polish guy who was in his opponents closed guard and managed to bait the guard player into going for an arm bar but the Polish guy had a collar choke. It was so tight he released the arm bar attempt and tried to tap but passed out before he could tap.

Well alrighty then, the ufc 250 White House card. Perhaps the biggest or most viewed combat sports event of all time?

Near as I can tell, most Americans seem to have a negative view of it. As a big ufc fan, I thought the overall premise was bizarre including that it was on sunday nite for don's birfday instead of the usual and far more sensible Saturday nite. And normally I don't care at all where the fights are held, it is the fights themselves that matter. For example the hullabaloo that was made about ufc at The Sphere was fully underwhelming.
But I gotta say the Blue Angel flyover during the national anthem was awesome. And the whole affair was quite a spectacle and I enjoyed it. I didn't watch any of the filler between each fight.

The main event was Positively Epic. Just smh, what a freaking war with the heavy underdog getting the tko win over the extremely skilled and dangerous champ.

This wrap up article is very good for those who care.

I'm not a fan, nor do I have anything against UFC or other martial arts, mixed or otherwise.

So, I paid little heed to this extravaganza at the White House beyond rolling my eyes at yet another example of Trump's over the top self-aggrandizement.
