Sockeye salmon fishing yesterday, this is part of the catch. I think we ended up with around 35 fish for the day. This is subsistence gill net fishing up the Stikine river.

M and I spent a couple of hours this morning harvesting basil and making pesto for the freezer. Put up 10 very generous dinner packs. Yummy stuff...basil, almonds, parmesan cheese, garlic (also from the garden), olive oil, salt and pepper. Our second such effort this garden season.

Made me think of Stig, and remember the pounds of the stuff he and Margot would make and send to her family in Switzerland, beside a huge amount for their own use. I miss that old curmudgeon.
