Songs I Like

I listen to classical when driving, but never know what it is that's playing....
Ha, snap! I quite like it at times as there’s no talking and generally pieces can be quite lengthy so allows some chill out time without any inane talking from a presenter. Hear some nice pieces at times but never write down what they are called so struggle to find them again. Some movie soundtracks can have some lighter pieces that can be good for chilling out too whilst driving.

Also, continuing originals to covers and quite a change with this.
Bob Dylan’s music has been put into a stage performance, Girl from the North country which may be sacrilege to some but a few years ago I caught this Sheila Atim version on the radio and thought it was great and really brought the lyrics to life covering his tight connection to my heart.

One thing about the Corona ( Hoax)
It has made a lot of artist do some: " While staying at home" videos, that are brilliant.
It made Allison take on Vera Lynn, for example:

It made John Fogerty do the IMO best rendition of " City of new Orleans" ever.
As old as he is, it is amazing how his voice holds out.
Only other like that I can think of is Judy Collins.

This was originally song by Lale Andersen, but to me, there is noone who has done it better that Marlene.

One of the most rousing pieces of music ever written.

Just in case you ever run into a flashmob, better learn the lyrics:

Freude, schöner Götterfunken,
Tochter aus Elysium,
Wir betreten feuertrunken,
Himmlische, dein Heiligtum!
Deine Zauber binden wieder
Was die Mode streng geteilt*;
Alle Menschen werden Brüder*
Wo dein sanfter Flügel weilt.

Wem der große Wurf gelungen
Eines Freundes Freund zu sein;
Wer ein holdes Weib errungen
Mische seinen Jubel ein!
Ja, wer auch nur eine Seele
Sein nennt auf dem Erdenrund!
Und wer's nie gekonnt, der stehle
Weinend sich aus diesem Bund!

Freude trinken alle Wesen
An den Brüsten der Natur;
Alle Guten, alle Bösen
Folgen ihrer Rosenspur.
Küsse gab sie uns und Reben,
Einen Freund, geprüft im Tod;
Wollust ward dem Wurm gegeben
und der Cherub steht vor Gott.

Froh, wie seine Sonnen fliegen
Durch des Himmels prächt'gen Plan
Laufet, Brüder, eure Bahn,
Freudig, wie ein Held zum siegen.

Seid umschlungen, Millionen!
Diesen Kuß der ganzen Welt!
Brüder, über'm Sternenzelt
Muß ein lieber Vater wohnen.
Ihr stürzt nieder, Millionen?
Ahnest du den Schöpfer, Welt?
Such' ihn über'm Sternenzelt!
Über Sternen muß er wohnen.

:)

Not only has this likely been posted before, I'm probably the guilty party.

But hey, what a mofo of a song. And Clint is just the f'g man.

This is older than dirt, and everyone's probably seen it, but I really dig this tune. I particularly like this version over the album cut. It's got better pacing and "soul"...
