How sad.
Very cool planes, a lot of guns. We (my mom, dad, grandma, uncle, and bros) toured a B-17 in 02 or 03 when one was visiting Niagara Falls Air Base, I think my uncle went for a ride on it too. Wonder if it was the same one, article said there’s only 10 that are still flight worthy.
My Grandfather was a crewman/ gunner on one that was shot down, he was taken prisoner by Germany. My Grandma always had a made of a piece of shrapnel that was stuck in the heel of his boot.
