powered up. Vista doesn't seem to care. But like I said, as soon as I unplugged the mouse from the left side USB port, the sound started working again.

Vista does care; it's a minor port conflict. If you can live with it, it's no biggie.

Well, my desktop just crapped out on me. I've never had a computer die during business hours, always after hours and usually on a long holiday weekend. It's completely locked up and the only way I can get any response out of it is to unplug it and then start from scratch. It locks up before Windows boots up.

I'll drop it off at the computer store tomorrow. I've always hated that damn computer and almost hope it's not repairable. That's why I didn't buy my laptop from the same store.

Oops, it tried to continue booting but stopped again. Now I have a black screen with the pointer arrow in the center.

edit: After a half hour and 5-6 forced restarts, I finally got it to boot up normally. Now it's working normally again. :?

I don't want to jinx myself but I think I may have gotten my desktop working correctly again. The AVG antivirus was acting up and I got a couple error messages so I uninstalled and then downloaded a fresh copy (took multiple tries since the computer locked up every 3-4 minutes). Once I managed to reinstall AVG all of a sudden everything seems to be working normally for now.

Thats good news,AGV can be pesky at times ive found.

I dont use it anymore because of lock up issues.
