Boot dryers

Heat is damaging to footgear. :drink:

I find wet boots is more damaging to my feet than heat has ever been to my boots. If you look after your boots, loggers oil, on a regular basis the fire doesn't damage them as much. My vibergs last a good long time and I always made sure to have top spot on the drying rack in the camps.;)

I dunno. I put alot of years in on Vancouver Island and every single logging camp I was in had a dry room equipped with a woodstove, not just fans.

At present I'm using my wifes hair dryer. Do the drop in dryers work or should I just go ahead and get a stand type?

I have the Peet stand up type. 2 of them. They are great. Work well for wet gloves and mitts too.

Drop your boots on at night and in the morning they are nice and dry. Havent shrunk from too much heat and alot less work then using a hair dryer. Bet your wife loves that.

I have a couple of the old standard model Peets.
Always seems to work well.
Warm dry boots in the morning.:)

If there's no heat in the Peet(I've never used one) then how do your boots get dry and warm? I'm just wondering cause air just blown around with no heat added usually feels cool?

You sure? They are slightly warm when you take them off the dryer.

I've been using the Peet dryers for probably 10 years....or more. I even use them in the summer. They're only around $30. I would NEVER be without them.

We often have a revolving boot line if we've all been out working....truly a wonderful thing. When my daughter was in soccer, she'd come home with her shoes soaked through....popped them on the Peet and they were ready for the early practice the next morning.

They would be a wonderful gift for someone or yourself for Christmas....

Sounds like they're the route to go if your basement isn't already 90 degrees and the air in your house so dry it makes your lips crack.:D

I dunno, maybe I'm not...

PEET® Convection Technology: Air drawn in through vents in the base of the PEET® Dryer is warmed slightly.

Does that mean the air lower is warmer, or is there an actual heating element? It doesn't clarify that.

For what its worth....I bought the glove attachments last year at the beginning of the season. I think I might have used them twice. ...maybe.
