Boot dryers

A BC logger with no boot dryer? Next he's gonna say he doesn't have a saw either!

what, you guys to tuff to work in wet boots? :P With the weather up here in the PNW your boots are wet again after about 10 minutes, kinda defeats the purpose.

I had a buddy that worked in a lumber yard, he would buy tall workboots and had a process involving Mink oil and a hairdryer that took about 4 hours when he got new boots, then monthly to renew them. He did that for years and swore he never got wet feet.

As mentioned earlier I use heat, wood heat and loggers oil on my vib's to help them last and for waterproofness. Full leathers or half and halfs depending on the day. I would love to see a pic of a logging camp with 100 peets lined up in the dry room.

Of course dry rooms have fans, but also a big azz wood burner. Picture a building that can dry 50-100 guys clothes and boots overnight(one camp I worked in had over 300 people but multiple dry rooms). Huge barrel burner and a couple fans to spread it around. Everything hung up and boots all lined up on a bench. Trust me it works. The 'prime' spots were highly prized and guarded I nearly got in a couple fights for being the new kid putting my stuff in the wrong spot.

Santa brought me a peet. The original model. Good stuff nice warm boots in the morning now. Boots even feel better on my feet.

I have the Dakota "Circulator" for boot drying. Two little convection heaters that you plug into the wall and drop into your boots. They work just as well as putting your boots upside down on the heat register over night.
