We do tend to wander about from time to time .
yes, a little maybe, only been climbing a yearMy radar is lit up because I think you may be in over your head and not know it. Maybe you need to go low and slow as your experience level creeps up?
ill be buying another rope in the futureSince it seems every hitch you have tried is unreliable on your one host rope (is this right?), perhaps there is the problem, as you posit. I'd try something else, something fat and of long standing production and use...maybe Blue Streak. For smaller diameters, Poison Ivy or it's variants might be worth trying.
It's worth noting that even if you have decided to go with a mechanical friction device, a slippery host rope might well still present issues.
havent heard any complaints about it, have you used xstatic? that is one of a few im eying upGood input. The Poison Ivy, green, has served me well for hitches and for the RRP and HH2.
a few local arborists, Z133 and A300 booksWho are you learning climbing from?
knotted and sewnIs your hitch cord knotted or spliced?
done it a few thousand timesAre You familiar with dressing and setting knots?
why? is smoothed out, the strands are setting back how they need to be and it passed a pull testAlso with more info I really really really encourage you to cut that splice off your new rigging line and try again
1mm most certainly can make a difference.ill be buying another rope in the future
I just spend $200 on a rigging line, about to spend $250 on spikes, I cant keep spending money like this
I know for a fact scion and the zigzag work (August was running that combo for a long time without any issues), and the akimbo is rated for scion 12.5, would 1mm make a difference?
