Not sure if there is a thread out there, I looked (not too thoroughly) and didn’t see anything. Figured there should be one.
Just a place to show of some of the little bits, bobs, habits and techniques that make your climb easier or safer.

if your rope is too short and you notice to late while pulling it up. throwline over a branch, slipknot over the dangling end, pull tight and pull back down. learned that not to long ago and had to use it the next day.

I might need a picture of that to be sure I understand. This is to retrieve the end of rope you’ve accidentally pulled out of your reach?

I’ll go first. I posted this on instagram and I apologize if I’m too lazy to compress the video to upload it. If anyone doesn’t like links to instagram I’ll get off my butt an do the work 😁.

Not first! You beat me to it!😆

I think the forum supports 20-30, might even be 50Mb mp4 videos. 480p should be a good resolution to length ratio for that file size.

That trick is sweet! And I'm not even an SRTer.

Both tricks look 🔥, but since one requires no gear, that one seems superior, are there times when the prussic option is superior?

I like the prussic option because it can be installed without disconnecting your climbing system. Nice for situations where it may be risky to only have your lanyard, like out a redwood limb.

I've tried it a couple times on the ground, and didn't have much luck. I get the principle, but I overthink it. Instead of just doing it, I try to do it right and ruin the flow. It's just like handthrowing from the ground. For me at least, accuracy is inversely proportional to the length of time I practice swing to get ready for launch.

Makes me wonder how you would do at golf... ;)

Lots of slices! At least at the driving range. Haven't been in a looong time though. I'm not really enthused about golf. The outlay in money, time, and equipment doesn't feel like it would pay off in fun. Instead of chasing a ball around a landscaped property, I'd rather just go hiking in the forest.

I do like Mumford's file handle hack with a golf ball though. I'm a little sorry I got rid of all the balls I've found on jobs. I wish I'd at least saved the bright colored ones.

Harrison Rocket or some other? How much line? And what diameter? Are pull down setups and triggers allowed? Can I use a 6' and a 4' section of pole on the BS head, or is it the standard two 4' sections? We need uniform rules here!
:D

Checked luggage might be ok. I guess TCI is going to be in Milwaukee in a few years. And Milwaukee is about an hour from me.
