We hunted and gathered at the grocery store and tonight had seared ahi, and orzo with pesto, fetta, and hot chilies. Side plate of ripe avocado halves and sliced sweet red peppers.
I fried some Gnocchi and green asparagus with a bit of garlic in olive oil, added some lemon juice, salt and pepper just before serving and sprinkled grated Parmesan cheese over it.
Not half bad.
Pizza, left over from lunch.
Mom bought like 6 pizzas for lunch while we were killing her tree. That was like a pizza per individual counting them. Sooooooo. Two meals is cool...lol
Frankly, we find farm raised Atlantic salmon superior in flavor to anything wild caught, in our markets. Not sure that makes me completely happy to admit, but there is the bald-faced truth.
Aquaculture has plenty of possible negatives for the environment, but I hope at least that it's better than humans eating every single thing out of the seas until they are empty.
Also, it's hard to justify spending twice or three times as much on a sometimes less satisfactory product.
We enjoy farmed salmon, shrimp, scallops, mussels, swai, catfish, talapia. Still getting wild caught yellowfin reasonably priced, and halibut not so . Wild caught pacific cod, too.
Eat a fair bit of seafood. I'd hate to give it up.
