Yeah, that was dumb. Kind of a low quality video, but it's enough to see that the tree was garbage, left standing far too long. Stump shows almost no fiber at all in the brief moment it's visible, which reinforces my position.

The vehicles should have been a long way away, but that's just one in a series of bad decisions made before that clip was filmed.

The vehicles look too new to be purposely trashed.

'If its got wheels, move it"

Maybe it was one of those things that the tree was to be cut that day and vehicle owners not available to move em.

I've seen that video before, and longer. I think I used to have it on my computer, but probably got deleted to recover space. I don't remember the full video, but this one looks like it went where it was aimed. Close enough anyway. Close enough to move the trucks if it doesn't go exactly as planned. Truck closest to the camera was probably his. I'll see if I can hunt down the longer video. I think it was posted here somewhere.

Maybe I didn't see a longer version. Mick posted it here, and there's some analysis...

I'm trying to imagine a scenario like that, Cory. Coming up short. But you may be right.
Just a possibility- 'we're here to cut the tree, cars shouldn't be in the way but are, I think we got this.....:|:'

Checkout the discussion I linked. The "hinge" is apparently a visual anomaly, and you can see a jack on the side of the camera, and it was presumably intended to fall away from the camera.

I think what you(and me) are seeing as a hinge isn't anything. It's just some ragged wood casting shadows. I think the real hinge is 90° from the apparent hinge. Mick said the white thing is a jack handle. I'll have to take his word for it, but if you squint, it does kind of look like there's a pocket there for a jack.
