I just learned(like last week) what crape myrtle was. I was familiar with the name, but not the tree. What brought it up was cuttings in the woods that had interesting bark, and were *in my way*. The wood seems like it's really tough. I thought about taking some for tool handles maybe. Anything useful to do with the wood?
On the subject of pollards. We were back in Sweden (the embassy at least) pollarding some very old Lime trees.
I think posted pictures 2 years ago from the same job. Strange weather we are having here in Oslo (I mean Sweden) this year. +5c and sun. Beautiful day yesterday and today. 36 trees in all. 3 climbers. 6 each, each day.
Working last week over in Bergen on the West coast of Norway. Didn’t take many pictures as the weather was atrocious. Wet, wet, wet!
We did have one decent day. Removed a number of trees for a building extension, mostly Pine, Larch and Hemlock. Biggest was a Hemlock.
Had a fun drive over Hardangervidda to get there. It is a National Park on the top of a hill in the middle of Norway. Really weird to enter a tunnel and it is pissing down and then pop out the other side in a landscape that is like Narnia.
