The Official Work Pictures Thread

Nice lookin work there Stephen.

93 degrees here today. Sean and I are hurtin for certain. We're not used to this stuff. The boys are at each other's throats!⭕(

Pretty miserable hot here these last couple of days too, Jed. 101 F. on the front porch at 3pm. And I'm not working in it but a little, thankfully. Drink lots of water, rest in the shade as much as you can.

Got to the jobsite by noon

Coolvest! Very well spent money. Eastside should pony up. They're washable, only get wear and tear when worn. Like a GRCS. Only need it to really be NEEDED once a year, and it's worth having.

Cooling vest and shit tons of iron for the win

:headbang:

That was awesome, thanks for posting. Putting it on slow speed playback offers more detail. That is a big tree to dust off before noon, nice job. It looks like you have your own log truck now, eh?

That pick at .22, big dog leg limb, I was a little surprised it obeyed so nicely, I guess major butt-heavy was the key factor

Corry I am a complete moron when it comes to tech. I keep asking my IT person/wife how to increase the rate of pictures to increase the depth of realizm. However this is just a whim of an idea to just post short vids of our jobs so all the nervous ninies of Charlottesville can rest assured yours isnt the first big tree weve seen.

Any advise would be appreciated on how to do this.
Currently we cant download stop motion pics from my iPhone to mac?????

Dunno about apple stuff, but you should be able to dump a bunch of stills. Two or thousand, it should all be the same. A dedicated camera might be the better approach. I don't think something like a gopro is prohibitively expensive, and I'm guessing it can be set to take a still shot at designated intervals.

Nothing exciting, but I love simple little jobs. Fun and no stress.

My GF/ groundworker was sick for all but the last bit of this project. Was nice to have someone help with the hand-work at the end.

Had to cut the grade on the hill, and widen a bit, finding a empty steel drum buried beneath my mini travel path. Filled the drum with the gravel and soil from cutting the hill to prevent cave-in.
Bigger than a 55 gallon, or at least capsule shaped.

One mostly dead madrone, now not a risk to the house, deck/ stairway to the water.
One dead, dead alder chunked down over the well head, and power & water lines that weren't buried, just a bit of pipe- insulation.
Row of cedars to canopy raise.

Was the hottest week of the summer, with a sunny, and asphalt-y work site.
Took it in small bites, as I was solo.

Climbed two firs, and used two new carbon fiber extensions on my KombiSystem pole saw to knock the heads off. Then finished from below, climbing up onto 8-10" wood.

Had to prevent impacting the edge of the vertical to undercut slope's top edge, and the concrete bulkhead above the water, below the slope. Going to be on this job all week... Older customer we had done work for previous. Take down and pruning on the road back then. We pruned two of her neighbors trees and she decided that was how to spend some COVID money.
This tree I finished today is kind of a pig in a poke. She had asked for a bid years ago to remove the leader out over the car port. She took a cheaper route. Nice he left a ladder for me to climb
So we rigged that down. Insurance mandated. Then pruned allllllll the dead 1/2" plus, and mistletoe out of it. 9 friggen hours. Kicked my arse.
Then did a little multi stem up the hill and the boys took a dead one down. We get to move into the better trees tomorrow.
Some fodder....... IMG_0352.JPG IMG_0353.JPG IMG_0355.JPG IMG_0356.JPG IMG_0358.JPG IMG_0359.JPG
