The Official Work Pictures Thread

Here are a couple of shots of the base of the poinciana, someone asked if there was a crack...no, a deep fold but well braced above by a natural 'gusset'

An amazing tree, a beautiful estate, and some killer pics! Thanks for sharing.

That is straight up bad-ass Butch. Old School is still the best school.

I feel invincible from falling while making the cut with a backup to my lanyard.

I mean, other stuff can kill me, but not gravity. Not on that cut.

How's that do for picking up loud nearby ambient sounds (chipper, running saws)?

Amazingly well...Alex can be running chipper or saw and we can usually talk. It seems to filter out the maddening loud noises.

Sean...yes, cordage. That's a ground use helmet and my cobbled chinstrap. I am retiring that helmet soon...once Alex decides what helmet he wants...then we'll transfer the Sena to the new one.

I may just buy him a Protos like I have so he can use it to climb as needed.

They do make tree work easy. This tree was a really fun one, tip tied most of the canopy to a high block to a tail hold block to the mini and were taking 6-8" by 20' leeds. Just a fun tree over all plus it's a barter tree with my wife's grandma for baby sitting. Luckily they were out of town otherwise I would have had a sidewalk manager, her grandpa, all morning.

Subs, but for the most part ours. He and I are basically each others employee but have our own shows with all the bells and whistles.

SOme stellar stuff guys.. and gals.
Fiona, love love love that tree!
Good rigging shots FK.
Reg, that drone pic was killer!

On the mic question with the Senas. I have done away with the boom mics. Installed the little mic in the brim. So much less issue and hassle. The boom mics need that direct orientation that can get real frustrating 100 feet plus up a tree. Never mind the damn little wires breaking where they bend. Went through too many of them. Now, the little mics in the brim DO pick up more saw and chipper noise. Certain saws come over pretty loud, like the 200t, 044, 590. But not so bad that a little volume adjustment cant help. My guys, when they chip, one guy will shut theirs off while the other leaves it on for safety. Less noise than having two going near the chipper. If one guy is just bucking wood away from the work zone, he shuts his off. If needed, wait a moment and send other guy to fetch him. No biggie.
The mic in the brim is a no brainer.

Lifted, trimmed, tagged and lowered with fancy MA.

Oak is off the camp.

Then off to another for some stump grinding. Even threw a no-cleanup bid in for 8 reds from the neighbors front yard.

Gonna watch some baseball for the rest of the day 8)

Thanks. It worked out pretty slick. :)

Except for the neighbor lady wandering through the jobsite when I had stuff suspended. . . "um. . . ma'am. . . can ya. . . please. . . MOVE!" hahaha

Very cool rigging and good picture story. What did you use for power?

Re the civilian- that makes for just a harmless little add on story to the job but imo you really have to watch that stuff. You know how it is, it could happen that some numbnuts gets killed or injured in that scenario and the tree guy will obviously take all the blame. Maybe use more cones/signage and/or ribbons.

Found this big salamander in a hollow ant filled tree, it has 2 tips on it's tail.

I hope the picture doesn't come out too big.

They're black down here and we call them skinks. Strong 'lil bite grip! Snakes love them, so if you see skinks they won't be far away.
