The Official Work Pictures Thread

I like how Brian thinks people can just get up and move no problemo.

We only get one crack at this game called life, no do-overs. The situation with the scumbags vandalizing property isn't going to change and it is demoralizing to live in that environment year after year after year. It is a ton of work and effort to move but eventually some people realize it is the only solution. Nothing changes if nothing changes. I hate to see Deva stuck in that situation for the rest of his life.

Your perception of what I think is quite inaccurate. Perhaps you might not express it so often.

Well said, Brian! The greatest hindrance to seeing and making improvements in life or anything else is convention.

That shipping container (is that wat it was?) as a chip box on a truck is a good idea. Tell me about it.
Converted shipping container, yes -- 30 cu. yard capacity. I covered it pretty well in this other thread.
Someday we'll get a secondary setup with an aluminum dump body and a Bandit 14" chipper for smaller pruning jobs & removals, and save the big iron for the bigger jobs. But for now, it's all we've got -- and it works quite well apart from the slight fuel premium and added weight on the tires. We would like to add a pusher axle.

You're right Brian.
We make our own luck and opportunity.
I have a good thing going here and that's why I stay....

The vandalism on my truck will never stop until its moved.

Stand in the rain, you're gonna get wet.

Moving from SF isn't the worst idea...
Nico has about 3-4 more years before junior high....

The city is getting to be nuts.

Pacifica is beautiful.... just 20 minutes down the road.

The city is getting to be nuts.

Is it true the homeless problems are getting huge there, and liberal agendas like re Sanctuary Cities is really strong, from your perspective?

Nothing Earth shattering, but a really happy customer.

I was going to delineate between manicured/ maintained and wild areas with logs. Homeowner c changed her mind, so I free-handed the bench tops and cradle logs.

Did some habitat work, "coarse woody debris" mixed with some fine woody debris piled against an old snag from removal years ago, on a previous project. Several nest holes in it.

Stood up two logs against the snag. Perches and future cavity-nesting opportunities.

Reminds me of a joke, two birds are sitting in a perch.
One says to the other, "do you smell fish?"

The city has hired pooper scoopers to go around and pick up human waste off the sidewalks.

True.

Also, the city now drives toilet trailers with city attendants into high density shit shows to persuade people to poop in the toilets and not the streets or in between cars...

I've heard there are about 7k homeless people.....many working career people homeless and school aged children.
I've heard there ae about 7k AirBnB's in the City also.... Displaced?

Sanctuary City? I think there are 500 sanctuary cities, I read... The day workers stay to about 3 different paraddas.
Most people want high end work...pay a lot of money... the street labor is for the weekend warriors and cheap company's///..

Once I needed a guy... went to the wrong crowd.. They only moved furniture for 270/3 hours minimum...
The Construction labor dudes stood about 50 yards away and were $200/day...minimum...

The guy from Chiapas said better no paperwork, not even fake...the cops don't bother him for the counterfeiter...

I'm pretty A-political, Not familiar with Liberal Agendas.

Some more pics of my island job. What a mess it was, coming along nicely now. Can actually see the ocean! Excavator has come an gone, sad to see it go.

Did a little local job for one of my neighbours last Friday.

Spruce dismantle close to lines. Easy job and stack on site. Nice views as usual.

Then today pruned a few trees for one of the guys I work with/for then we dropped onto one of my jobs... deadwood and light thin of two pretty tall Birch trees. We also inspected the crowns for signs of future problems but all appeared very healthy.

Yup, easy up and back down.

If you look closely at the picture of the property, there is a silver Subaru Forester in the top right corner. The jobs are even better when you can see your own house from the top.

Not having to travel too far is great. Late start, early finish, invoice sent!

Nice work all.
PITA storm damage work today. Not a big deal except the tree was only a few feet from the property line and they don?t get along with the neighbors.

Still not a big deal. We cookied and halved the trunk so it all was chipped. Nice that it was 2 miles from my house. I parked my company bucket truck in the drive before 3pm. Wife and kids didn?t know what to think.

Looks like a lot of thick trunk to cut and chip. More power to ya.

2 Jobs Today

Job 1: Silver Maple Specialists (again)
Dropped a 50' co-dominant silver maple that was splitting at the base. No climbing, just dropping off the leaders, chipping the brush, and stacking the logs across the road for a neighbor to keep the wood. Done in less than 2 hours. Zoooom!

Job 2: "Mongolian" Elm
It was hitting 85 degrees Fahrenheit here, but felt much hotter in the open sun this afternoon. Summer feels here already -- I put down 2 gallons of water and still feel dehydrated. Rigged out a large "Mongolian" elm that was overhanging the house. Trunk was 36" diameter and I did the felling honors, bore cut with our 24" 372. Sliced up the trunk and halved the slices for our chipper (BC1800 can handle 18"x24" pieces). Wound up with a FULL 30 yards of chips, truck eased home squatting a bit, dumped, and now I'm headed for bed!
