Max!! Awesome work, looks a stress free environment.

Ya Jed,Nice stump! 😋 friggn pig i say... It's definitely cool they acknowledge your skill and you as a human being ya know, could be worse I'm sure. Smaller outfits definitely can make a climber feel more valuable seeing as they become very dependent on us since there may only be a couple skilled within the company. There's definitely a middle ground in there somewhere,I was subbing to single crew shows but am now back at a 2 crew company where I previously worked for 7+ years. Little bigger outfit but I am still invaluable here and that helps give one self worth imo... Stay the high road brother, what you do matters!you matter! What we do definitely matters to the ones at home that depend on us to provide.....

Rich I bet you miss that jobsite already huh😮

As usual, beautiful work there Jed. True pro! Man I sure love the stump porn. Maybe it's just me, but I really feel that the arborist community has become very gear centric. Knowing the proper mechanism of cutting is so important, and I am amazed at the lack of falling skills I see from some young climbers these days. Oh well? A fresh stumpie for ya' from yesterday.

Thanks Stephen. Hope your doing ok up there. I don't thing many folks realize the magnitude of what is going on in the Sierra's. As you are well aware, the scale of the Pine death and fire danger has reach truly epic proportions. It is an eco-system forever changed, and you have to see it to believe it.

Also figure its time to share a little secret with you guys. My name is Erik. Rico is just an old nickname, and my internet handle around here. Feel free to use either.

I get it up here in BC. Our largest fire is over 300,000acres right now. 2nd and 3rd are around 120,000 each. We are sitting about 600fires so far this year with almost a 50/50 split of lightning and human caused.

Sure hoping you escape with no losses Stephen.

Keeping you in our thoughts as well Justin. Crazy bad up in your province.
Seen the Aussies were on their way to lend a hand.
Nice to meet ya Erik.
They are trying to keep the fire out of the higher elevations. Started lower where it is more oak forest and previously burned areas filled with brush and grasses. Pretty much following traditional burn areas. Terrain and wind driven.
They need to keep it off that dead pine strata though or holy shat.

We are well clear of danger at the present moment and time. Beyond that, my place is quite safe.

I get the stress of living in threat of fire though. My old place which I still own is in prime interface zone. Urban sprawl with tinder dry forest all around.

As you well know Stephen things can and do change in an instant with fire, sending the positive vibes your way. Do your rain dance. Any relief in sight?

Trees and fires are bad juju. Just got this from a firefighter feed I get:

19 year old MONTANA FIREFIGHTER DIES AT SCENE FROM FALLEN TREE
The Secret List www.FireFighterCloseCalls.com

It's with great regret that we pass on that on July 19th, (yesterday) a Firefighter was killed in the Line of Duty while fighting a forest fire on the Sealy Ranger District of the Lolo National Forest in Montana.

The Firefighter, (from Grayback Forestry) 19-years-old and a resident of Missoula, Montana, was part of a 20-person attack crew. He was struck by a falling tree. Our condolences to all those affected as we watch another tough week for wildland Firefighters.

Take Care. Be Careful. Pass It On.

Had a few Pine trees two remove this last few days. 8 large Pines to come down over 3 days. Managed to remove a fence and flopped 6 into a paddock and dismantled 2. Got quite a few shots from the customer and one of the guys.

We managed to get the job finished in 2 days. No clear up. Didn't fancy just wedging some of them as there was properties within the Vacinity so I installed pull lines to be sure.

Trees were pretty big for round here. The closest edger right next to the neighbouring property we measured at about 90 foot.

Very sappy Butch.

Got some footage and a few more clips to come once they are sent over.

Thanks Erik. Biggun was a knick name coined by an Irish, short arsed drunk who walked straight into me one night in London. He was like... 'bloody hell your a biggun'

It sort of stuck.

You can call me either Biggun or Rich. ;)

Haha. Thanks.

That is Sam. His middle name is PPE and red is his favourite colour.

Red saw pant, red bin lid, red shirt. He even has a red truck. Looks like a bloody fire engine.
