Had a pair of la sportivas for over two years before I replaced them. Tough and comfortable. Now I'm on scarpa's and feel the same way about them. Nice choice!

Why don't you guys over there were chainsaw boots? Light like hikers and protections to boot... pardon the pun. IME hiking boots are just not that tough for climbing in.

Ive been running the Scarpa's...there back packing boots with a shank, enough heel for my gecko CF's, oh, very secure around the "cankles"

Working with Bixler Tree today, I got into 2 very tall pondies, easy 150's footers that they wanted dead wooded between 2 homes, one with plastic sun room..... goodness, cut and throw and roped down a bunch of dead ones, nerve racking...

Very very cool. . .

It was not a good tree Stephen. Put a good amount of force into it before I faced it. As soon as I nipped into the back cut it started popping and moving. . . Like moving sided to side slightly. Wind was with me, it rocked on it's hideous stump for a bit before whatever minuscule holding wood laid it over, glancing into the hemlock right behind it and stalling it out. Locked off the pull line, reset the 5:1 all the way out, and pulled it off that by hand easy enough. . .

They have a shank, and enough heel for spurs. These are more of mountaineering type boots than hikers or backpackers. These and the la sportivas I had are one piece leather construction. No seams to blow out, much more durable than loggers imo.
