Does anyone use the alturnamats as a crash pad for blocking down chunks over sensitive surfaces , I've heard someone say they were thinking about trying it, never heard any results on outcomes...

I did it once with tires under the mats, it worked fine.

Deva was killin it after his long drive. Been looking forward to working with him this week. Got a few pictures here and there after spending too much morning doing a couple consults.

Gladiators are sweet.

Those are great pictures. It's amazing how straight those poles are! I know it's a really simple thing for you, but man, you guys did an awesome job just limbing them up. Great work.

Attempting to collect 10-25 gallons of these things before the snows get too serious. . . part of a scarification and non-commercial planting program. Kind of cool. Turns out the 8" 30 footers are the biggest producers. Kinda fun to climb. Red Pine.

Found maybe a gallon and a half today in six trees. It's been suggested I should try to find and rob the squirrels. May come to that. . . haha

Horse stall mats are just recycled tires about 5/8" thick heavy buggers.
We bombed wood on mats and have damaged them punched a hole thru one and shattered another and that one ended up being an out rigger pad.

Thanks Mick,

Yeah peter, just a super simple cable. I don't have the fancy chafe sleeves or slings. There's much cooler stuff out there. This hollow braid works well though. . . I have had a couple test pieces out for two years now and they still look good as new. Worry about the squirrels using it for other things, but that hasn't happened yet.

Finally got around to knocking this down for a camp owner. . .

Yeah... cool pics, Sam.

Deva! Knockin em dead in some nice boots. Sap on face never hurt a soul... wearin it today for crying out loud... yeah... it was tiger tight again... the boys were like, "Weren't we just doin this??"

Two firs, (bout 120'x34") real close, which made for a nice tip-tie for the one. We did pretty good (the tip-tie one nibbled down to a little stob, and the other one, brushed out and topped.) considering the mandatory construction-site, little orientation deal... filling up with chips and having to dump at 11:00, and the constant refrigerator guys (you can see their dollies in one of the pics) having to come under. When I was down, I go, "Dude!... How many stinkin fridges did you guys move today?" He goes, "Today... only six... usually... it's like 20, 30... man, we've done up to, like fourty fridges in a day." Fourty fridges in stinkin a day!!... Low-income housing, mind you.

Jed you are the king of tight quarters tree work. It's obvious that either you are the man, or your bosses hate you, otherwise they'd give you the easy ones. You seem to thrive on the hard ones, sounds like you like a challenge.
Deva, what model are those boots? I looked on their website and couldn't find them.

Its pretty funny when you see a picture where most people would think....oh, how scary...so high up that skinny tree with such a little rope....and the real purpose of the picture is...how your feet feel.

Sam...grendel...your pictures ARE unique...composition, focus...cool to see them.

love you guys!!
