The Official Work Pictures Thread

Love that compact chipper Ed.
Scott and Brian pumping it out! Awesome pictures!
I was removing a set of limbs from over a koi pond in a target rich theme garden. 100 plus year old black walnut. If I ever have to remove it, I really want to mill it. Hobbs on the tree for size. Too much leafy matter was making the koi sick. So we trimmed the tree back some. 75 feet to the tips I reckon.

Jim, you can have the nuts, I'll just take the log. I used to walk to grammar school by a big Walnut that had eatable nuts on the ground, but there must be a way to harvest them. One of those big shaking machines that feels like an earthquake is happening?

Max: Now THOSE were some really cool pix.

Ed: Those were beautiful. Man, we don't have stonework anything like that wall in the whole western half of this country. I'm jealous of your phone, man. Awsome pics.

Scott: Mick's right about your skies, man... Coolest shots of some beautiful work.

Rich: "just out of stubbornness."

Mmmmmm....Walnut fantasy! I could use that.

Here is a different perspective Jay. A lot of usable wood in this tree.
Jim, I had to Wraptor up due to my hip being a little bitch.
Normally I would just climb up the rope SRT.
The homeowners just pick up the nuts that fall off.

It is a much nicer construction. Smoother for tensioning. Easier to lift things with.
Easier on the tree as well. Nice to be able to have a big bollard pruning big wood.
We had to lift a piece back up that snagged a limb when lowering it through the canopy. Took two guys to lift that piece on the ground. KK would have been a pain to do that with. Great piece of kit.

See, those shots just blow my mind Ed. Beautiful.

Dead Fir, 109' today. Took a 50' top then dumped a 59' butt stick on it.

Some more Beaver kill for Stig...

unnamed-643.jpg

We also did a dead 85' Madrona from the bucket, and then I fell a 100' Fir whip into the parking lot. Will see if Aron's vid works out...

Oops, vid didn't work.

Some great pics there guy's. I have been slacking on the taking pictures front, so few from a decent sized dead beech I have done over the last couple of days. Someone grabbed a few shots of me finishing the stem.

How did you know I was doing a big tree? as I Don't remember getting a word in edge ways on the phone - was like chatting with the Mrs

Was that an old Marlow t16 rope I spied there Ed? Must be like climbing on a rubber band - nearly went back to 3 strand after buying that :)

Pete: That last shot is one of the coolest I've ever personally seen. Gorgeous hinges on the ground.

Had to fall a schoolmarm Red cedar today. Kind of a toad for our area... about 105'x 36". Kind of a bigger (for me) double cut on the stump which was about 4'. Was a bit proud of myself till our national corporate bosses came out and started tearing my truck apart. They were there for over an hour, and I couldn't get a thing done....

Just look at em all would'ja? Trying to tear my crew into tiny little pieces. None of us will fight cause we know we'll all lose our jobs.

Good pics.

I'd like to know what they were saying....

 @ you two. I hope i can climb a big ol beech someday.

we set forth to slaying sappy gray pines, Mike and I. Chipper lost a fitting on the hydraulics, tried to get a part local, had to order it. So I rented a chipper for the morning.
Some silly fodder.
I rigged, he bombed mostly. Short two guys today too.

Two of them guys look a bit familiar. Can't remember names though. That was a beefy one. I like the cutting board shim. I might of ripped it down before using it though:P. Did they happen to ask what that was for?

Oh, no they couldn't care less Rich... unless you could litigate the cutting-board somehow: like... wifey gets the cutting board on Tues. and Thurs, but Pater Familias (Man of the House) can use it Mon. and Wed. provided that... blah, blah blah, blahh, blaaahhhhh. I don't know what motivates those people... honest to God.

Stephen: I'm diggin the new avatar.
