I can't see how that tree did much in the way of shading her house.
I've tried them back when I cut branches for x-mas decorations.
When you cut about a ton of 3 foot fir branches a day and bundle then in 10 pds bundles, it makes for a LOT of cuts over a season.
I found the electric pruners to be too slow and imprecise, they were costing me money.
For lots of little snipping cuts,like that birch, they are REALLY slow.
