The Official Work Pictures Thread

Max, you cut the trunk into firewood lengths, will those get burned for home heating eventually?

Nasty, half dead, vine covered, line clearance hacked black walnut came down today. It was short but had limbs over 2 shed and a spread over 3 back yards. John and I took care of it. It was in the city and I dislike going into the city. Everything is tighter and more potential for theft. The customer was a nice Vietnam Marine with a unique (in a good way personality.

Yup. Their pretty ugly. Did any come down normally? Looks like they all gave up part way through the operation.

edit:
except #1

The second one had some rot above the cut, that failed. Head lean hard into the oak with broken tops. Guyed it and pull rope so it went 90 out into the slot, most of it. Set the cuts and get out, pull with mini once I am clear. Shat raining everywhere.

The kind where one gaff comes out every 15 minutes due to rot and vines. Hard to hit anything solid because your boot hits the ivy before you can sink the gaff deep into the tree. Ivy trees are the worst. Preaching to the choir, for sure.
buckingham permanent 3 1/2“ gaffs are youre friend ;)
