The Official Work Pictures Thread

A few decent jobs this week.

I surveyed a number of trees for removal due to road repairs that need to excavate 50cm below current depth. Digging will encroach the trees and be approximately 1-1.5 metres from the trunks. Due to the positioning and prevailing winds it was decided to remove the trees. Few things to avoid such as buildings and power lines so we rigged the large pine down. Then dismantled another smaller pine and a tall skinny Birch tree.

Today we removed and small stand of Poplar, declining Ash, reduced a Norwegian maple and a couple of other boundary maples to tidy them up.

The idea being to give evening sun to the boat pier and decking/outdoor dining areas. The trees were in a neighbouring plot but they were kind enough to look after us all day. I’ll be back to remove a declining birch tree Monday morning and to chip onsite.

Lovely day today. I think we achieved the desired effect whilst retaining the maple in the centre of the garden and keeping the tree owners happy.

"Fieldgoal-ed" (felled into a very tight slot) a tall, thin dead grand- fir to start.
Climbed a cedar to take down a rotten willow in pieces.
Canopy raised 2 candelabra western red cedars while Miriam deadwooded another cedar. Another contractor will clean up. 👌 20230619_142150.jpg 20230619_142156.jpg 20230619_170145.jpg 20230619_171134.jpg 20230619_171145.jpg

The cedar on the right still has an old tv antenna in the middle.

I got the bill for the crane on the post #33,696 job today.
Because everybody worked together like a clockwork, we had the crane out of there in 4 hours.
Paid by the hour, not the day, so I made some real good money on that job.
So today I slipped the crew $200 each in cash.
That is what being a good socialist is all about. :D

Great pics Max re the storm damaged tree. Max, I see you using the lift truck for alot of trimming but not for removals (unless my memory is wrong) so just wondering why you wouldn't use the lift on that damaged tree, assuming there was access.

Ash, that's what I thought.

Nice vid. Imo, you should do more vids of the climb up instead of mostly shots at the top of the tree :rockhard:
