The Official Work Pictures Thread

Jed, I haven't noticed any sag.

But then, of course, I run mine with a 20" light bar.

Maybe the one I ran had clapped out AV ? It was ok bucking but side to side flopped around like a fish in the boat - real wiggly not like the 064 - the smoothest running saw in my arsenal is the 572xp

Obviously it started to settle so we moved.
homeowner informed us he had water in his basement.
this is what we found today as we fixed his water line...... luckily I didn’t have any release signed so this one is on me! 6F3B6A81-A3C9-4567-A0BE-690C5FAEEBAA.jpeg

Bummer. What am I seeing there? Looks like the water wasn't even really buried; just a cover over it?

Some weird shit going on, never seen anything like it. For some reason there is a 2 course retaining wall about 2 feet from the house and a void under 2-3” concrete slab. Evidently we pushed that wall down and broke the water line which isn’t the big pipe you can see.

Guess I won’t make much on that job

Bummer on the underground damage but itta be aight.

I just love treework crane pics. Ya know when your up there in the bucket and youre close to the boom, it looks so GD massive. Kinda freaky.

MAN! I’m so sorry to see that Paul!! Rotten luck, and ya win some and lose some and all that sort of thing. Sorry.

Treesmith: HUGE Oaks, man... wow... ton o work.

Stig: I personally cannot imagine crying about two degrees of bar tip sag... it’s like... “then tilt the bar tip two degrees higher ya dummy!” 🙄

That saw is CRACKIN even if it COULD use a torque build.

. Started stripping this 40" dbh Doug-fir Saturday afternoon, after the other small tree removals for the customers.
Did a couple batches of straight down lowering, multiple ropes yesterday.
My GF helped for an hour today, zipping enough down the hill for me to carry on with a lot of zipping on my own, with an improved zip line angle. Then two batches on two ropes straight down.

Today, I was nearing the point where the original leader broke off, and 35' of new leader, with normal branches has regrown. These low limbs are heavy.
Probably about 140' tall.
The trunk is 4' from the deck.

I heard August had some half-hitch lowering trick. Yesterday, I was clove-hitching... Today two spread-apart half-hitches!!

I underestimated this one.
They decided they want to fill/ terrance on the bottom of their slope, instead of having chips, so it's going to work out well. Zipline for the win! IMG_20201208_144333493_HDR.jpg IMG_20201208_163318872.jpg IMG_20201208_152413718.jpg IMG_20201208_125700663.jpg

@ Jed ... It definitely “wood” benefit from flow enhancements for sure ... It also should come from the factory with a larger gas tank as it drinks fuel like a drunken sailor

The best of the lot. Better than some hardwoods.
1A2BB50D-BD2B-4863-A45E-111EFCC2A9D0.jpeg I’m sure the indigenous Douglas fir in the PNW is highly sought after as Firewood , however it won’t hold a candle to our WNY Red Oak butts ... 18”- 26” chunks as Y’all can see ... Great long-lasting heat when seasoned for 2yrs . .. I’m getting about 8-9+ hrs out of a load with plenty of coals to quickly reignite the next load

I meant compared to the local hardwoods it competes with on it's home turf. Of course there are better fuel woods, and some that are certainly not as good, from other places.

Douglas fir is a softwood that produces medium heat , sparks , is easy to split and seasons in about 6months ... Even though it’s technically a softwood it is listed favorably in the btu / cord charts:)

Interesting house. Not sure if I like that or not. That's one I'd have to inspect in person. I tend to be a hyper traditionalist, but sometimes modern architecture strikes the right note with me. Really nice setting there. Pretty...

Didn’t have time to take many photos yesterday. Short crew so I had to set straps and cut. Lots of up and down. Took down six trees, five tulip poplars and a sassafras. My right shoulder that got rebuilt back in 2013 is super sore today.
