That was... strange!
Having a bit too much time on my hands right now, I find interesting things on youtube.
Got into Fred Astaire oday.
Probably the best dancer EVER, outside of ballet.
Go to 3.30 in this video......he is 71 years old, for someone's sake!!!!

He is just incredibly loose limbed and balanced.
Would have made one hell of a Martial artist, had his interest gone that way.
I simply love watching him move.

And when he dances with Ginger Rogers I'm totally carried away.
I grew up with this stuff, and back then it was simply something my parents watched.
Only recently have I realized how good it really was.

No more driving and texting for him.
It may just be that I have too much time to watch videos right now, but I found this to be a fascinating glimse into a world that is no more.

We, my good friend, might just have been born a few decades too late. What an adventure those young men had, before almost anyone else on the planet was doing similar.
If given half a chance, you and I would have been right there with them, this I am confident of.

Just finished the Africa tour vid Stig, and I must say thanks for finding and linking that one. Wow.
It really blew my mind, too.
I've always felt I was born half a century too late.
Never too late, though, check the video I posted in the Motorcycle thread of the Polish/Australian woman going through Gobi desert and Khazakstan and lots of other of the former USSR states alone on her BMW F800.
She has really done some travelling on her own and her videos have a nice female touch to them.
She rekindled my dream of a world wide side car motorcycle trip.
Gotta do something in my dotage

The guy taking the pictures must have run his legs off -- getting all those off-road perspectives. And so many of them were not even a mile apart.
They captured it at just the right time. A trip / adventure like that will never happen again.
