That was crazy.

This guy is a wildlife scientist, he wrote Cry of the Kalahari, a very good book about his long time spent in Africa studying lions.

He broke his back being thrown from a horse. Interesting story of recovery

At the 5 second mark right after he pulls the saw out, I can see the tree and earth "jump"...and at the same time there is a loud thud noise.

So when the old codger kicks the bucket soon, CA and most everywhere else will be screwed cuz of all the hazard trees needing to be dropped but Bruce aint around to do it

That was a bad hang up.

It looks to me like he miss his lay for the fir and hit the redwood, which caused the fir to break / fold back on top of itself. What a mess. The remedy to get it all on the ground was risque to say the very least.

Typical day in the woods. I could be wrong about all that too.

Those clowns on the cable were whack.

As to the falling clip, I'm with Jer. Super nasty hangup, super risky fix.
