Re the balloon drop, he cocked it up didn't he? Shot the strings when there were loads of ballons left.

I don't think so, it was planned. The shotgun didn't done enough and he said he was still raising after some shots. We can't tell with the editing if he went short of rounds or if he went too high for his liking. But I'm sure that he triggered the drop. Look at the aluminum frame when he began to fell. It was initially hooked to the balloons at each corner. Suddenly, there is no more rope, wood, sling or carabiner. All the mess is gone with the balloons. There must have been a quick release system.

Same in my mind as the rock climbers that free climb...pretty stupid risk to take. Take enough risks and it eventually catches up with you (I know...treework and all that)
This fellow you just saw in the video died skydiving in 2015 at a golf course jump:
"MTV star Erik Roner dies in skydiving accident during opening of golf show

Maybe, but if none of these guys doing death defy stuff ever actually died there wouldn't be any jeopardy.
Plenty enough people fighting to stay alive to worry about peeps throwing theirs away.

Obviously the point was to do a stunt for attention.... Lots of fun until you die trying... That shotgun the balloons thing just rubbed me wrong, of course that was after I knew he killed himself hitting a tree... We never will know what he was thinking, but he obviously made a deadly error..

Always tradeoffs. We live capitalism.
The positive side is to reinforce to people that disabled people are regular people. Being an amputee doesn't mean you have to lay down. You can be fit, active, sexy, manly (in this case of a dude), even if you're injured, or not of whole body.
Growing up in the seventies, I saw a lot of Korean and Vietnam era amputees, seemingly a lot of vets from context. Proportionally, I'm guessing, many more Middle East survivors of catastrophic injuries probably than past wars, due to faster access/ exit and treatment.
Promotion of returning soldiers in a more positive light in pop culture is way better than the Viet Nam experience, from the best my outside perspective can tell.
With good there's bad, and with bad there's good.
