Same with coal, i guess all coal is from the same geologic period when plants formed lignin but no fungi or bacteria could break it down yet. Stuff you learn at night watching science on YouTube

Speaking of coal and seeing that license plate brought back a laughable moment for me. Several months ago I removed an old out of service coal fired boiler at a school that was replaced with a natural gas unit years ago. There was probably two ton of coal along with a small conveyor still in the basement that they wanted removed also so I gave it to a friend just so I wouldn’t have to deal with it. He’ll burn the coal and use the conveyor along with his wood splitter to load trucks. Anyway, the wife said I should be ashamed to give him the coal because it’s so old it can’t be of any value. Instead of taking advantage of a teachable moment I just agreed with her that I’m an asshole.
