Mario Vaden has a picture of that burl tree taken from nearly the same perspective. That's probably why it looks familiar, Stig. But I did post one before this too. I wanted to try and catch the tree in a different light and this time I got Terri to pose for the shot. Much better than me in the picture, I think.

If I ever win the lottery, I'm going to spend the rest of my days just wandering around the less populated corners of the planet finding cool trees. Cools pics Gerry.

That is the best " If I win the lottery" idea I've ever heard:)

Many thanks for your sharing Gerry.

I am in orr of you in many ways, one having the opportunity to do this. Many of us can only wish. Another is having your good lady share this time with you. Many tree wives are not so keen.

Good on you both, Mr & Mrs B.

Thanks Brian, thats the one!

Had a hard day, and my English is not always the best.

I try not to use spell check but sometimes could be a help.

Sorry to Mr & Mrs B, I hope you got my thoughts.

Much appreciate the kind thoughts. I'm lucky Terri shares my interests and goes on the hikes with me. It wouldn't be the same without her. specially since all I have is a ten second timer on the camera and without Terri most of my tree pics like the ones here wouldn't be possible. I usually set the camera farther away than a ten second timer can allow me to get in the picture.

I wish I could find a camera with a longer timer. It would make it easier for me and Terri to get together in the shots.

My old infrared remote solved that problem years ago with I was still shooting film.

I can just imagine you have lots of timed shots of your back as you run frantically back to Terri as the click goes a little earlier than you expected!

Enjoy your times together Gerry, it really looks cool. I only wish my wife would even walk 200 yards into the woods with me!

If I ever spot an unusual sight, be it a strange burr on a tree or an exposed root system on a bank, Louise makes out Im the "sad" one!

Keep sharing your finds with us Gerry, they are appreciated.

Nice pictures:)

In regards to the super bowl ,I never watch it .The only times ever was in my bar hopping days just to watch the people .That was a show all of it's own .

You got that right, Al. The best team players, in my opinion, are the blue collars that make this world work. I'm not big on spoiled sports and hoopla. Though, like yourself I do enjoy the party and the people it inspires.

Still prefer the outdoors if I had a reasonable choice.

When I saw the thread title, I thought maybe you'd started turning bowls and were frustrated. Yeah, I guess I need to get off the farm a bit more often. :|:

Great pictures, Jerry....as always. :D

Yes, we have several pics of Jer's back as he is running towards the tree to get in the shot with me. We also have a few of him tripping over logs and stumbling in the brush! 10 second timer is just not enough in the woods. And I do love being in the woods with Jer. We have alot of fun and it's a great place to be...until I see a pile of bear shit.
