My dealer gives me a great discount on several cases of ultra at a time. So I'm still on the old stuff. We always pour oil in before filling gas cans.
I can see double mixing becoming a problem though.

My boss was recently telling me that when he ran two-cycle motorcycles with the whitish/ opaque fuel jugs, he could see the oil on the bottom of the jug even after spraying gas into the tank to fill it.

He has us add a gallon, then two-cycle, then the remaining 4 gallons.

An extra step, but maybe worthwhile.

I buy my mixing oil by the gallon and refill my 4-ounce bottles as needed. About $12/gallon at Wallyworld. Been running it for prolly 15 years now, with nary a problem. I mix 4 ounces to a gallon in winter, for 32:1, while I often stop on 8 or 9 tenths in hotter weather, so I have a little more oil in it. A friend of mine who used to cut timber often ran his at 20:1 to 24:1, and had his saws screaming.

It's the "specially formulated" by Stihl for Stihl. Who can refuse a marketing slogan like that. I use Yamaha oil, rated JASO FD. Better detergency. 8)

Was told the other day by a former road racer of two stroke GP bikes that they used a lot of oil to make more power. 20:1 or more I think. Forgot the explanation behind it exactly.

Switched from stihl syn. to shindaiwa red armor pre-mix, smells better no complaints, I thought stihl was getting a little stinky. When you grind out stumps with an alpine magnum you notice the smell more than other 2 cycle goodies.
