This next set of pics from Lassen is Bumpass Hell. Fumaroles, mud pots, hot springs and big time rotten egg smell.

The Cinder Cone was only 700 feet high but very loose ground and there was a lot of back sliding to reach the top.

Outstanding pictures, as usual.
You are so lucky to have a gal, who'll go with you on those trips, Jerry!

The views from the trails were way cool. Wish we could have made it to the top of Lassen, but work on the trail was in progress. When the work is done Terri and I are going to the top at sunrise. I'm looking forward to that.

The lava flows are huge. Thousands of acres in size. Lava tubes by the score, collapsed tubes, ice caves, glass mountain and its obsidian loads, and trees growing out of the lava. The lava beds are quite simply, "out of this world."

Stopped off at a few redwood groves on the way back home. And got some really good pics of the elk on this trip too.

Took a couple of shots of a windfall too in Rockefeller grove. I had taken some pictures of this tree before it fell. It's strange that the only wood and roots holding the tree up was that little bit on the very high side. Other than that the tree really didn't pull any other major roots.

The order of the pics isn't quite right. I haven't figured out how to do that yet.

Imagine that.

Terri and I have fortuitously picked some perfect times for our vacations. A week sooner or later due to weather our vacations would have never happened. It was great to see you in the spring, Stephan, on our way to Yosemite. And that trip we just made happen by the hair or our chinny chin chin. Ha!

And with karaoke to boot.

Looking forward to seeing all you again.
