The grain appears fine (years). But that could just be a characteristic of the wood. Tropical clime and all.

Looking at that tight grain and hearing that unusual name, I was wondering if it is the same wood my buddy tells me is the best wood for trailer decking, but no, he says Apitong is the wood I was thinking of, apparently it's from SE Asia

Yeah, Cory, they use Apitong for the wear-deck on the salmon seiners we built. Tougher that Oak

Albizzia grows fast and wants to check and barber chair on the back cuts if there is head weight… or heavy lean
