Here is a picture I took last year at the section championship game for my old high school. I don't know if it will show up now that the picture has been resized but the receiver is about to catch the ball and get creamed by the DB. Also check out the gut on the referee.

The digital cameras are way cool. I have to admit though I was skeptical of the 8 meg digital imaging chips at first, but after taking the plunge I found the latitude of exposure in high contrast lighting is better than Kodachrome film. And that sold me. Let alone the resolution.
The features the Sony DSC-828 fars exceeds that of my old film system. Which consisted of 4 lenes, motor drive, Remote control, Camera bodies (2), Filters for each lens (
, and many rolls of film. I needed a large camera bag to carry it all. And it weighed in around 15 pounds.
It's amazing that one little digital camera does everything my old system did, and it takes video too. All in one little tiny package. Way cool.

Have to say the same for my (stolen and not yet replaced) Pro1 Canon. Eyeing another one on ebay currently. 8 mp, LD glass, Raw mode....one of the few little cams worthy of the title "pro-sumer" But a bit outdated....
That said, I'm lusting after the impressive new Canon 5D Mk 11, which just leapfrogged the new Nikon d700. It has a nearly identical FF 21mp sensor (prolly slightly better) as the $8000 1D S Mk 111, but is only a "mere" $2650!! And shoots 1020P HD video at 1900x1080!!! Barely on the market,prolly be ages before they're available..as the pre-order list is huge.

Due east of me, it snowed down to 3000 feet level Monday evening.

May 18th, 1980, I was on my way to the south slope of Mt Rainier to ski up to Camp Muir at 10,000 feet. (south side of Rainier is shown in one of my above photos) We were turned around by the ash cloud. Went home and was glued to the TV for the rest of the day.

Fire wood processing is one of those old, married guy, "I'll be in the yard!", busywork things that I never understood until I became an old married guy that needed to gtfo of the house and do something to keep busy. I'm not too handy, the only thing I can make out of wood is smaller pieces of wood.
