Official Guns Thread

I saw this and was wondering if it was real or not.

Looks like somethin James West'd have up his sleeve back in the Wild Wild West Butch.

Little 22 pepper box dissuader's are nice.

Jim, does that kind of velocity shorten barrel life to any degree? I remember hearing about .220 Swift barrels burning out pretty quickly but I think velocity was at or above 4,000.
That's a Chiapa Rhino I believe Butch, .357 mag most likely.

The newer steels are better than they used to be Ray, and it seems like they stay a bit more accurate a bit longer.

But yes, that much powder in that small a hole is going to be hard on the barrel.

The .220 Swift is a bit harder on barrels than say a 22-250, but if you dont get it so hot that you could cook an egg, it will last a long time. Keep em cool and clean and most people will never shoot out a barrel.

I bet I will see upwards of 1000-1500 hundred rounds out of this barrel before it gets too lousy.

That seems like a lot but I am at 250 already, and I am still working up loads!

Jim, why not a .338 Lapua? You've got the room out there. I'd have a hard time finding a thousand yards here.

I have thought about one of those. My buddy is thinking about building a 7mmx338 Improved.

I do have the space, my range goes out to a mile and a half.

Probably start off with a Savage .338, even though I dont particularly care for them. Cheep and accurate though!

Fine looking guns gents!!!

Im absolutely luv my 10mm Kimber stainless...more power than a .357 but just under a .41 magnum...I mean whats not to love?

Its my trail gun and Im loading my own, 180gr. FMJ's at 1295 fps with 11grs. of blue dot ;) ;)

Nice looking gun, BOTS. I've always wanted a 1911. Maybe a Ruger, when I get some cash flow again. The only center fire pistol I've owned was a Glock 22 in 10mm short. (.40 S&W). Actually I just remembered I have a .25 auto, but that's not much more than a rimfire power wise.

Thanks!

I want to take a blacktail deer and pig with it....ill load me up some 200gr bullets for them critters.

You don't thumb cock the hammer. You simply pull the trigger and it performs the whole cycle of retracting the hammer, tripping the seer and dropping the hammer

That is by far the most commonly used round where I live.
Perfect for the small roe deer we have.
