Erik is talented but not a friggin miracle worker. I'm afraid Kentucky may have more influence on him than on Brian.:D

I can fit in real well with country hicks, Erik is gonna stick out like a sore thumb though. I may have to translate for him at restaurants and stores though... :P

You folks are going to be surprised if you've never been to the large metro areas of KY . It's not at all back water country hicks .

A couple of the local trimmers are heading out around the middle of the week .I'm not sure where but Louisville is only around a 4 hour drive by car from here . I think you can make Lexington in about 7-8 hours .

A couple of bucket trucks ,two self feed chippers ,maybe a skidloader .Lots of saws I'm sure .I think I got about a half dozen running good within the last month or so and did another today as a matter of fact .

Same deal as the rest of you ,no local work .

Since FEMA is involved, they need to leave the chippers at home and bring the loaders or skidsteers instead. Everything just goes to the curb.

Thanks for the info .I'll pass it along .

That alone would likely tickle them because a skidder tows a sight easier than a 7,000 pound chipper on one axle .

Been thinking of different things to pack. I just decided that I'm bringing my generator that I bought in a panic after the '04 hurricanes, might as well get my money out of it. I'm also bringing a few cases of drinking water.

Tossed my VHF/UHF rig in the truck. Might make for some good listening. ;)

Some extra diesel would be a good Idea. A Tarp, You never know! Extra gloves and socks. Equip your air tanks with an air hose, for blowing off saws or airing tires. Make sure your antifreeze is up to par.

I don't have to tell you that you should have everything under lock and key!

The truck holds 100 gallons of diesel, I have a 5 gallon can extra. I have an air hose that hooks up to the 'glad hand' trailer connector on the back of the truck but it doesn't pressurize, haven't messed with it to diagnose any further. I'll pick up windshield washer fluid and a spare gallon of antifreeze tomorrow. I have extra oil, trans fluid, power steering fluid and an extra 5 gallons of mix gas. 8 chainsaws, pole pruner and blower.

If I could find the leak I'd plug it, but I appreciate the advice. I'll grab a couple cans when I pick up the windshield washer/de-icing fluid.

I'm packed and ready to go, my buddy's groundman finally agreed to go so I'm waiting on him. We should be on the road by 6-7pm. If anybody is looking for me, several people on the forum have my phone number. I decided not to buy a laptop since I can't afford it right now. See you folks in a couple weeks. :)

What you need is a "jumper hose" .A piece of air line with a clip on connect on one end and a regular air chuck on the other .

In an emergency you can rob some air from the other 5 tires to limp in some place to get the tire repaired .

Have a safe trip B .

By 'slow leak', I mean that it leaks down from 95 psi to 75 psi in a few weeks. It makes the truck pull to the right a little bit but you can't tell it's low by looking at it. I'm sure it's better than a lot of other tires on other tree trucks heading to KY. ;)

Oh no doubt you are going to see all kinds of things . Brand new saws in the back of beat up pick -me -up trucks .Old saws in new bucket trucks . No doubt the circus will be in town .
