Had a damn woodchuck in the yard at lunchtime....knew it would find the semi trailer out back (sits on the ground).
Seen him about 3, go to house, get my ar, send mr varmint to the promised land, dispose of carcass (feed the yotes).
Life is better....
Spot another (wtf?) about 7....wash rinse repeat....

Real close to putting a small gun safe in the shop, save a lot of walking....

Shot a couple of Reindyr Bucks. Had the meat flown out by Helicopter after carrying it down the mountain.

Buried the Animals gutted but whole in a snow bank, then went back up a few days after and butchered them.

After building a "long range Reindyr sniper rifle" I shot both these animals at less than 150m. Typical.

Very impressive country in there, absolute killer of a walk in.

I still want to shoot an Antelope, maybe next year? I really stuffed up this years hunting trying to juggle my new girlfriend, my daughter and work plus a mates wedding.

I have to be less busy and more organised. I have 8 tags still to fill but no time to do it.

Silly man.

wow Mike @treebogan, them is some wild ass pics! Very cool! :rockhard:

What critters were you burying the meat from, some mega fauna like bears or wolves or more run of the mill stuff like foxes.? Oh wait, Norway, you might have a few gulo gulo in your 'hood. But then, hiding meat under several feet of snow to deter wolverines would basically be the same as leaving it on top of the snow 8):rockhard:;)

Foxes mainly but a Wolverine wouldn't get past the flat stones interlocked. A Bear would though, no Bears around here.

Not according to the poster who does hunting and conservation 24/7. He aint city.

Disagree. I want mountain lions. Why not? I'm not a big fan of sheep, goats, cattle, or stray dogs.

I even disagree with an eradication mentality on feral swine. It is not realistic or productive. It is an easy place for people too intellectually lazy to entertain management and abatement.

Feral swine, now there is something you don't want. Even too many native wild boar are an issue. In 2 weeks I'm headed to Spain to trap boar in a national park. Of the things I've been paid to do in life, it is one of the stranger things.

I've never seen a wild mountain lion which likely gives me and big Jim something in common.

Having read a fair amount on them, I too am generally in favor of them.

Why do you think lions in IA is dumb?

treetx, why are you being paid to trap swine in Spain?
