Cutting and Rigging in the Tree

Just received this in the mail today. Looks like I got some real enjoyable viewing to do this evening.

These series have been awesome so far, and this one I think is just as good if not better.
looking forward to the little action figure in action!

Thanks Gerry!

No link yet, Butch. Lots of little things to do.

Frans, there's 6 and a half hours to watch in Series Two. I don't think you're going to watch it all in one setting.

I watched it all in one setting. Just like series one, it's so interesting you have to watch it to the end!

Sweet!!! Just talked with Gerry via PM and now have mine on order.

If Series Two is anything like Series One, this should be one awesome set!!

I can't believe Franz () can't spell Beranek!

Who Bare-neck?

I gotta say, this video compilation/lesson series/teaching aid is so way above and beyond any training I have ever received in my entire career of working trees.
Should I have had this when I just started, it would have made my 'school of hard knocks' learning completely different.

For example, I climbed for many years without a clear understanding of jump cuts (thats the section I am watching right now).

I feel stupid for not realizing what Gerry is talking about earlier in my career.
His video explains the various cutting methods for making a jump cut, the inherent dangers in using the bar tip, what to cut first on the limb to make a jump cut, and why it is important to make these cuts in sequence to each other. Also talks about the shape of different limbs and how they respond differently when they are cut loose.

Thanks again Gerry for sending me these tapes.

You couldn't just be saying that because you think the guy who made it is so
handsome? . :)

I'll be ordering soon too.

That is true, Great narrating voice.
I'll buy both the Videos from you, when I come over.

I taking my copy home to watch tonight. The guy who does the graphic design / website stuff at Wesspur came into my office yesterday after watching the first dvd. Even though he is not a climber and doesn't get excited about this stuff the way we all do, he said it was the most fascinating and entertaining training product he'd ever seen.

I lent the first DVD to my guys. I they liked it but felt it was too slow. I think young folks are all ADD these days. They need fast edits and some CGI effects. I don't know about this second series but the first one didn't have any explosions or crashes. Perhaps Gerry can spice up Series three with a chase scene.

Like # 1, Series Two is built on the same style. Lots of helmet cam and model demonstrations. boring instructional type of video.

Just lots of info, tips and tricks, no sex, violence or any of the good stuff.

Too much video for me. Especially if no violence.Gotta have it.The trees owe me that much
