It was a nice climb. Except for the mistletoe clusters and the broken top I had to fish out

Ho opted to try and save this live oak. Chock full of mistletoe and dead. Stressed by the mistletoe, drought and competing brush underneath. I figure it has about a 40% chance of survival now. HO is going to put some water on it. Soils probably need addressing, but he is going to wait a bit longer and see if it does better at this point to make that call. Mike helped me out.. 13 billable hours. HO clean up.

Remove the grass/sod, replace it with mulch, @ least 8 inches.

I scalp the crown of the sod and then mulch. No need for the extra work except a foot or so on the edge if that.

Ignoring the roots is just plain dumb, but your diplomatic soft-spoken and persevering approach is probably best.

I have a hard time not picking up a limb and whuppin em upside the head.
