Doughnut peach tree

Is this tree total loss and fully diseased? Besides the horrible pruning. It used to produce the best peaches. I do know the city came and placed a nectar trap for an invasive fruit fly.

So I regret taking so long to find out what to do. Should I remove it ? Should I worry about the soil if I intend to replace it with another fruit tree ? Thanks I advanced

Looks toast to me. I’d remove and replant with caution as the soil may be contaminated with spores.

Looks similar to black knot. It can be cut out but that looks pretty well covered so removal is best.
