No still nothing, if someone else would like to try it out let me know.

Is there still one traveling around Thomas? I have yet to use one, but do see a potential loss of that little screw. Could that be some sort of push pin?
I lost two bags in a big pitch pine today. $40 down the drain or at least gone until I am back climbing. I'd be furious if I lost one of these to that tree.
Maybe The Royal Knight and a black anodized one called The Dark Knight.

Husabud up for it still?

Talking about marketing in general terms, America, and I suspect Canada, for that matter, are such friendly places for the positive reception of new products. Usefulness is often seen as the priority over cost, and people generally don't mind in the least bit seeing someone that has gone to efforts to produce something good, get their fair shake from the deal as well. It's a certain generosity, or what it might best be called, that doesn't exist in most other places in the world. Manufacture something that you think is very worthy, hopefully sell it, and then move away from the west, and that picture becomes pretty clear. It can actually entail getting into realms of strangeness like first having people enjoy your presence (how well can you hold your liquor?), before wanting to take a good look at your product, and then what can be seen as impudence when approaching possible business relations without first having the proper introductions, etc. If things aren't happening for you when targeting potential customers at those places where the numbers are there, and that are so warm and fuzzy with attitude potential to begin with, it would seem to be a rather monumental hurdle to cross.

I've only skimmed half this thread but this post stood out. I have said this before elsewhere and it's sadly true.
Americans & Canadians are very encouraging of the entrepreneurial spirit and prefer to spend more money if the product is first class.

Conversely, British and most other Europeans treat entrepreneurs with disdain and mock the efforts, (through envy) we want things cheap and then complain when they break or under perform. What we do best is to stand in queues and complain.

Therefore specialised products, like the RK, receive rapturous applause swiftly followed by "Have you seen the price of that?!!" Over here, the RK will be stuck on the shelves alongside products such as the GCRS and Wraptor.

I have a RK and love everything about it. It has been battered on the concrete and got my line straight into trees where I would have had problems with a bag. If I lost it I would buy another as I continue to use it first.

I don't have the cerebral ingenuity to be an inventor but appreciate good things.

Long live the entrepreneur! Without whom we still would not have the wheel.

Out of stubborn desire, great things are eventually born.

Keep safe all.

Not sure I agree with you there, if it's good and at a good price people will buy it. Nothing wrong with wanting to avoid paying over the odds for something.

Fair point and I am generalising but I've been on Arbtalk for a few years as well as other forums and being British, know the British mind set.

I know that many won't agree with me, however, it's a well known fact and you only have to read the Stein Arb Trolley threads on Arbtalk to see what I mean. (I recommend not reading it cos it's stupid).

I agree with your point and while I don't want to pay over the odds, I will happily buy the most expensive product if it is the best product. Equally I'll buy the cheapest if it's the suits my purpose best.

For me, the RopeKnight is the best throw weight available for multiple reasons therefore it's the only choice.

Sure ,I've read the arb trolley thread, so I understand your POV on that.
Maybe as an English expat I'm a bit overprotective of our reputation.

Appreciate your sharing your point of view and input to that degree Oldmilltreecare. And this is just how I feel about a product that is intended to help me make more money, work more easily, or even enjoy life more.

“I agree with your point and while I don't want to pay over the odds, I will happily buy the most expensive product if it is the best product. Equally I'll buy the cheapest if it's the suits my purpose best.”

Additionally (and missed by some) if I have no use for it, I need not tear it down. I value inventors and their improvements to life.

The RA 1st public exhibit was at the UK Arbor Fair and it was
with the response from the Britts that we continued on with production and further
investment. Still very thankful for to all that came to visit and participate in the survey back in 2009? its all a blur and roller coaster

Its introduced me to many arbos in many parts of the world.
Many who are very thankful for bringing the design to market.

I know its no 3pt hitch or pto type invention but it is what it does!

Merle and Old Mill cheers for charging forward!

Hey Joe has the Rk moved on?

Well, I've had it stuck in two trees here. Had no intention of climbing them until That moment. I think I've worked out a way to launch it with my APTA. We will be testing tomorrow.
All in all, it does exactly what is supposed to. I certainly wouldn't be flinging it toward a house, but... For the size trees I have here, average height 60' max'90, it could be a daily use item. I should be done with it within the week. Whose next? Randy?

Stuck?
Will it fit in the APTA, looking forward to this!
Is the vinyl or foam protectors offering any comfort for throwing? Or are they still part of the kit?
Thanks man for giving us a chance!
Progress marches on

Well I shipped some more out to TreeStuff this week.
http://www.treestuff.com/store/catalog.asp?category_id=285&item=1500
So people are finding it a good investment and they will be available to those who want fast, smooth and easy TIP isolation and the RopeShield for throwline to rope transition smooth over and gauranteed forever.

How is it fairing for you out east Husabud?

That is such a good feature. The climbing rope gets over anything, every single time.
Love it.

Patiently awaiting your reply Reg?:beerchug:

Some of you may be curious to see this customization for a client recently.

9.5oz and 5.5inches long. Diameter is substantially less than a bag.
It does happen where a client really wants to make it to their specs.
And that is a cool thang about RA. It can be exactly what you want it to be.
Client told me he got his daughter to paint one up like a football. Cool how?
I always like the superheros, Thor, Hulk, Spiderman, Batman etc.

RA is the future for some, its definitely not for pussies, just kidding!

Here is the RK SS. Not sure what to call it. Any ideas ladies and gentlemen?

Sorry Tom. I was just looking to see where this thread was up to and noticed your question. To say FAIR price is perhaps unfair to you, as I'm sure your mark-up is tight enough as is. To put it another way, if the price was less that $100 I think you'd more than double your annual sales. Depends whether high numbers/low mark up makes you any kind of profit.

Please believe me. Honest truth I make more money throwing the RK than selling it.
RK should be at the retail end approximately 25% more slightly closer to the two hundred mark.
If I could afford to make several hundred at a time it could be less expensive mb?
Freeworker,TreeStuff and Atreas are the only retailers that care enough to offer it to their clients.
It works, it's selling, Arbclimbers are winning and making money with it. We all win. Profit or no profit. Who the frig cares at this point. We've done the best we can and the rest will catch up at some point.
Not much different than the progress from climbing rope on rope to all mechanicals. I know in most everyone's case who has made the switch "5 10 20 yrs to late". Better late than never eh

I always watch this thread to learn any new tricks that might go through. If you’ve got any please post them. I tried taking pictures on Fri. intending to share a thing or two. Will have to retry pics this next week.

Glad to hear RK is hear to stay Thomas - I make money with it. If “here to stay” ever changes please let me know I will want to buy a couple more. Ready to sell the Demo unit yet?

I was thinking over the last couple of weeks how lazy I have become in my line placement with RK. I just reach out and put the brakes on mid flight and then pull it back over unwanted obstacles a little bit slowly. If the goal was to stick it I believe I could. But since my goal it tree done and check in my pocket, I’m loving the RK.

By the way does anyone new to the Rope Knight have any questions about its practical usage?

I ahve great luck throwing with a 1/8" screwlink a few feet ahead of the Knight. Positive feel for releasing accurately, adds a slight levering action to increase throwing power and some how manages to prevent the throwline from getting stuck. Must be inmy head cause the physics of it are puzzling.
slight resistance due to the weight of the link to counter the fish tailing of the line i suppose.
Highly recommend the screwlink and try throwing with more than 3' of line.
Thanks Merle, alls well?
