I have a battery powered one, it is kinda cool being so quite. About the same weight though, gets 800' of ascent per charge. Big draw back is the batteries are expensive and can go bad with only a few charge cycles. I read one report where the guy only got 10 charges out of his. Im not willing to sell a product that could break down so quickly....

Oh you could do it with a right angle drill and big long cord .Just hope it doesn't come unplugged or somebody forgot to pay the light bill and the power gets shut off about half way up or down .That would suck .

Al, did I ever tell you about the time I was running this BIG mag-drill... and a co-worker unplugged the mag? Talk about going for a ride!!

I hope you thanked that coworker Erik

OK so the resolution to the situation is the dude is going to ship the unit back to me and I will send it out for Sherrills next order. Will be interesting to see the condition its in....

Yeh B Im not sure either. Im sure there is some advantage for them somewhere, probably has to do with liability.

If they have you shipping direct, it is so they don't have to hold inventory. All about them keeping their cash an not having it tied up in inventory.

He dosn't like it because the Wraptor is to bulky??? ...I bought my Wraptor because I'm to bulky!!! LOL

If the guy wants to return it because it's defective, fine. He sends it to you at his expence (LESS ROPE) and only if you find it to be defective should you refund the money. If not defective, it gets shipped back to the guy with the extra money he had to include when he sent it to you!

Besides, whats to stop a person who has a few big jobs lined up and wanted to do it with the ease of using your Wraptor, only to return it for full refund once he's done his jobs???

Sherrill cares only about Sherrill and NOT YOU. They have you takeing the risk, you takeing returns on non defective products, you takeing the financial losses and in short you holding the bag if a Sherrill customer isn't happy due to no fault of yours!

Seriously Paul, how bad do you really need Sherrill??? Other that an add in the catalog, what have they done to promote your Wraptor?

Just my thoughts is all.

A lot of companies act as middlemen that's nothing new .

It would be rather difficult for a small concern to get the advertisement etc just acting on their own as oppossed to selling via a larger supplier .

. and a co-worker unplugged the mag? Talk about going for a ride!!
I'd well imagine a stern reprimand was in order following that incident .A big mag drill running "slugger " type core bits gets one hell of a bite on the steel .I don't think there's a human being alive that could hold one of them if the magnet came unplugged .Fact is I doubt if two gorillas in tandom could hold it .

Bob,

I agree with your logic about the wanting to be returned Wraptor, but I think you have to qualify that approach. If Paul had been in business long enough with the tool, he wouldn't be asking for opinions, he'd have his mind established on what this type of situation calls for. Probably a firm policy would be in place and detailed at his website and expressed through the retailers as well. Paul is a real smart guy and certainly capable of coming to his own conclusions, but the fact that he asked about it here, and so far is probably still in the fairly early stages of getting the Wraptor out into the world, I think the more magnanimous he will cover all discrepancies where possible, is a good way to look at it. Firming up loose ends will evolve and this experience will help promote that.

I have made things for a living for a very long time, and it's more a gut feeling than anything else. It seems like that is what has been determined to do, and since Paul is a prideful man with a fine product, I suspect that their is a degree of disconcertedness about it. I sure can't speak for him and his way of thinking, but I am proud of him how he handled it. Of course if the tool was trashed or something, that would be a different matter.

My 2...

I just got back from TCI Expo and the imbeciles that were displaying the Wraptor lost all my appreciation for the tool. Not one had any answers and I was not impressed. Every question asked was followed by "Uh, I'm not sure but I can contact you later". I will continue my search for all the facts, but I hope these morons are not the only reps for this Awesome tool. No offense Paul but these guys were mental midgets. I am still interested and hope this memory fades.

Wow Im sorry you had a bad experience with them. As you may have noticed I didnt travel up there for the event so shipped some units to Scott Proffitt of North American Training solutions as they have been demo.ing them around the country for a while so I figured they could easily do a good job of showing them. This is where it kicks me in the ass that I am no sales man and hate travelling. If you have questions that need answering give me a call and I can give you the skinny no BS version. I really should make more of an effort with the trade shows but I prefer to stay home with the kids:|:

You can also ask the questions here. I was at the booth next door, wish I could have fielded your questions. I'll be there tomorrow as well for most of the day. (Branch Manager Attachments, end off aisle 12)

It sucks you got a bad showing, bro. Take Paul up on his offer, and give him a chance to do right. You won't be disappointed.

Poor representation can be a real problem when you are having someone showing your product. I'd suggest that if no units or under your expectation sell at the show, (if they are for sale), you might tell the retailer that you want to discuss it as to why that was the case and figure out ways to improve on that. A friendly discussion to let them know that everybody has to be on the ball as much as possible, that is the reality in today's economies. I think it is quite reasonable, and a retailer should be wanting to be accepting of that. Some folks are still in the same old, where waiting for customers to make the commitment, without a lot of effort on their part, being the way that they operate. Folks can be lazy when it comes to thinking out of the box, at least at a given time at a given place. A good chance that they will be out of business too. As someone said, "There is no success like failure, and failure is no success at all".

One of my fellow inmates at the almond sheller has a side business of buying returned tools from Sears and he sells them at the flea market. He buys them on the internet from some company that does this for Sears and usually for about .25 cents on the dollar. If it is returned to Sears for whatever reason they won't sell it and turn it over to these guys. He sells them at the flea market for from 50 to 60 percent of new price with no warranty. So I'm guessing this is a problem in all manufactured consumer goods and Paul will have to figure out how to handle it. Maybe you can re-condition the unit and replace anything that looks worn? I don't know.

Well like I said this could be a silver lining .Get the unit back clean it up and test it then send it off as a demo and mark the whole thing off as a business expense .Every time it comes back and gets tidied up a tad mark that off too .Who knows it might be a bigger money maker than selling it outright .More than one way to skin a cat ,hell the guy might have done a favor .

Thanks Paul. In know way did I associate them with you directly. I thought you ought to know how your product may be represented at different times during a show. There is alot to see and learn at these shows and time is of the essence. I wish I had more time.

Carl I think we spoke yesterday. I nearly bought the show model BMG for the mini but couldn't figure out how to get it into the car. I wish I had recognized you.

Honestly it was either BMG or Wraptor coming home with me yesterday and instead I came home with a pocket full of cash. Not all bad I guess.
