It would have to cycle really fast to do a cord in 45 minutes.

10 seconds for a complete cycle. But it has auto-cycle, so the ram is doing its business while the operator gets another round. Everything gets pushed out the back onto the table grate and up the conveyor. Except for the odd resplit, you only pick up the wood once during the splitting operation.

I call complete BS on any of you boys who think you can split a cord by hand or with your 4 way splitter. (((But if you can do it id like to see it))) and so would alot of other wood busters round here.
Fact is you can bust a rick or a cord by hand a good deal faster.
And yo we call a cord 4 by 4 by 8.
Bring it on Newfie.

I know how to measure a cord. 128 cubic feet. I don't care what sort of hillbilly research you've been doing. Call complete BS all you want. I really don't understand why the f$%k you care so much. For once and for all, I don't GAF that you don't believe me. I have more important things to worry about, like picking lint out of my navel.

This thread is making me laugh. Now it's making me cry, look at those sweet guys hugging er up.:D

C'mon Dark and Newfie give each other a snuggle wuggle.

And even if somebody was, I wouldn't want to persecute them for that.:D

I just wouldn't want to sit beside them, I'm too damn handsome, they'd be all over me!

Yeah i dont care much either i just dont believe it Newfie.
But like i said sure with an awesome machine ,,, easy.
Other wise, most little machines like the one you mentioned wont come anywhere close.
But, now i see you have suddenly up graded to a six way ohhh am i in vited ?

Maybe is u r splitting by hand perfect red oak .
You might put out a cord in an hour.
And even with the the 4 way , i meen 6 way all of a sudden ,.lover splitter,
Shoot 45 mins for a cord .
Thats still fast just to move the wood out of the way is tem min.s worth
Oh but now all of a sudden you have a conveyer belt.Ok
I can see now how your guy can operate a machine that will split a cord an hour, With all that why not 2 cord and hourz
Why didnt u mention u had a conveyor belt to start with?

Newfie ,if U dont care , why are U responding at all ?:?

The best splitter i ever saw was Amos Mcpherson.
Five foot ten , 285 pounds looked just like Mike Tyson.
He could come close to splitting a decent cord in an hour by hand.

I recone the difference is we r talking about different cords.
And of course your 6 way with conveyor belt . Why didnt u mention that first off ?
Our split wood , once stacked has to be V into W's
Its stacked very tight.
Maybe thats the difference.
Once again .
Newfie, if u dont care then why did u evern respond to ths post anyhow?
You just are saying your guy can split a cord for 15 bucks in a hour.
Maybe you have a very fast cycle."10 seconds for a complete cycle. But it has auto-cycle, so the ram is doing its business while the operator gets another round. Everything gets pushed out the back onto the table grate and up the conveyor. Except for the odd resplit, you only pick up the wood once during the splitting operation."
Yeah that seems like a whole nother story now , conveyor belt and all.
Dooohhh :/:

Now really, why would u bother responding, when u could be picking lint ?
How fast can you pick a cord of lint, out of your navel?

:\:
I can pick 5 bushels of navel lint with my auto 1540 lint collector XP
But when im doing the collection process for the cheer leader squad down at AT i prefer doing it by hand.
;)
Just quit picking bobes , i meen bones with me dude .:?

Laters :|:

Tyson's like 50pds lighter than that man. 5'10" 285 would probably be hard to swing an axe.:P

Y'all need to chill on the navel splitting and wood picking

Sorry that I'm running a streamlined firewood operation. Work smarter not harder. Find out how slow your hillbilly buds can do a full cord and I'll try and follow their business model, cause obviously I'm screwing it up.

I have a 4 way and a 6 way wedge. For that matter it has a 2 way wedge that the other two can slide on or off, depending on the size wood. It always pay to have the right tool for the job. Again, work smarter, not harder.

Do you know of a better hydraulic splitter than a timberwolf, other than a full out processor?

I used to rent splitters when I sold cordwood .... I'd expect to have at LEAST 1 cord /hour split with a machine .... if not I'd be better off with the maul ...

Like I said before ,with one helper I can get a chord per hour though my homemade contraption . I never timed it but with the large pump it is actually faster, even with the 5 inch cylinder than most 4 inch cylinder models .

Then too most of them have 24" ram travel while mine is 20" .It splits a tad over 24" . I have enough cylinder ,pump and engine to run a 4 way but I don't see the need to .

Now in that pile of wood I posted is around 8-9 cords total .When we start on it we will likely have two splitters ,5 men .Most likey take about 4 hours or so .

A cord in an hour with two people is deffinatly doable.
I suppose a cord i meen supposedly a cord in one hour is doable by one man.
I imagine if i had wood being conveyed to me or at perfect height so i could pull it off what ever and split it into four pieces and then there was a hill below be so it would roll down a bit out of the way then yeah i could maybe do a cord ina hour.
Just stacking a cord from a pile takes some time .
I dunno how any single person could actually split a cord ina hour without all kiunds of other perfect setups and then i dont think it would be stacked or put into a truck stacked so they u could actually see that it is a real cord.
But if newfie says so ,then so be it. He is the only single person i know that can do it.
Amos could come close splitting it all by hand.
If we lined up rounds for him then sure he could split a lot of wood.
I think most folks working alone with half ass cut wood, you know tree job wood ,get about a half a cord an hour, on average.
Good job he is really really fast.

But what do i know , ive only been working in this buisness for 25 years.
That was starting at 18 i wont count the first 15 years me and my dad cut all kinds of wood .
Ill get a clue by the time im 60, but then maybe not . Im one of those guys who never seem to learn.
Aww shucks , its bad genes , im dumb.

Oh I could easily get a half cord per hour with an axe ----thirty years ago .;)

Half a cord per hour is admirable in my book.
Especially if you do 4 cords ina a day .. alone thats fooking insane
.
I want to see the man who works an an hour days and bust 8 cords .
Oh my goodness wed have a wood bustin SOB

R u nutz ,What do you think a chainsaw is for .:? The only people that axe cut wood are those giants with 18 inch arms in the timber sports type thing .

It ain't my thing at all .
