I see in the app market there is a credit card reader too. They mail you some hardware that plugs into your headphone jack I think, and then you are ready! The one I saw had bad reviews though, hope someone else develops one that works. Be cool to swipe someones card right there on the job, print out the receipt on a little thermal printer in your truck, have them sign it, and you've just been paid!

Of course cash is still king. But imagine the look you'd get. lol.

I had a lg ally[sp?] that was android operated at valley crest, it was okay, just wished it had flash.

That is cool. Thanks for the bump. :)

Great thread!

I don't have many apps yet, thanks for the lists. I do use google apps on the pc though and most of them work with the droid. Like the calendar and google docs. The estimate request on my website sends an email to me as soon as someone fills it out. Extremely convenient if I'm on the outskirts of my coverage area and get a request nearby. I also use quickbooks, so I can pull up an estimate(pdf) that I emailed a customer and view it with them on the job if I want to. The same with invoices of course.

So many options.

When I did a search in the market, that was a suggested search query. I presumed that was the name of it.

It's a instant voice message app, like texting meets walkie talkies.

Great, now I've got to search again.:(

You'd still get booked here for using Heytell if driving. I guess it could be useful sometimes.

I do have an iPad, and there isn't much in the Apple market for free, for sure. Stark comparison to the Android Market, which has tons more free stuff. I use it mostly for email and web on the go, and it's a ton easier to lug around that even my small netbook.

Just upgraded my original Droid to the Droid 2 Global. I expect to be doing more international this summer, so I might as well have a phone that works about everywhere.
